Are these blackberries or black raspberries?

I found these growing in the backyard and wanted to make sure they were edible before eating.

If they have thorns, I'm pretty sure they are raspberries.

...red, black, purple, or golden yellow, depending on the species...

Quote

When one picks a blackberry fruit, the torus does stay with the fruit. With a raspberry, the torus remains on the plant, leaving a hollow core in the raspberry fruit.

. That's a way I think of them too. Blackberries have a little 'core' and they are longer. Raspberries look like little round hats or thimbles when they are picked.

Our raspberries have thorns, our blackberrie do not...but they're not the wild plants.
