Food Saver Sale

Recommended Posts

Food Saver online store has a 20 percent off sale this weekend, BOGO on bags and rolls and free shipping over $20. I was going to buy a new vacuum sealer here locally and order the jar sealer attachments from them , but there seems to be a better variety online. So here's the question, what model Food Saver do you recommend. Is one inherently better than another. I know a lot of you have older models. I've been borrowing dd's. But we're biting the bullet with this sale.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I have an older model and I have a newer one. I like the newer one because it has a built in retractable hose. It's just a little bit more convenient. It also marinates meat. You have to buy the separate bowl but it starts automatically and stops when the meat is tenderized. Instead of taking hours in the fridge it does it in a few minutes. It sucks all of the air out and the marinade in. Also it automatically starts sucking out the air in the bag when it first detects one being inserted. Not that is a big deal...just saying. It's model 4925 if that helps. Sam's Club has one that looks just like mine for $150.00

I got mine on sale when our K-Mart went out of business or else I wouldn't have bought it.

It won't let me post a picture now. Saying IE is blocking a pop-up from me. Sigh. Maybe later.

Ours is several years old, and it's a GameSaver Deluxe that we bought from Cabelas. We are looking to replace it eventually, and we've read several reviews and know which one I want...just can't remember which one it is right now :-( But it's gotten lots of positive reviews and is said to be their most popular model.

Thanks y'all. I ended up looking at the new Wal-Mart here and they had one that holds the roll, which we wanted. We can use it with the jar attachments and that was our other priority. It doesn't have the retractable hose to use with their containers, but we have such limited cabinet space, we are okay with that. It was $139, so I grabbed it. When I got to checkout it rang up $99!! Bargain Day! Yay. I went ahead and ordered regular and wide mouth jar attachments. They were 10% off and free shipping at $20, so I got my daughter a set as well. All four and shipping for about $34. I did another order to take advantage of the BOGO sell and got two 11"x16' portion size rolls for $5 each and two 11"x16' expandable rolls for $7 each. Some of the regular rolls and bags come with the new machine and we already had one roll. So that should get us through summer maybe. Thanks for the input.

WE2, I would be interested in knowing which model you've researched if you come across that at some point. Thanks.
