jeanettecentaur
Hello all! Right now I am over the moon! Last Friday I enrolled in formal herbal education with East West School of Planetary Herbology to study under Dr. Michael Tierra, OMD. The program is set up to be Distance Learning with actual Class/Chat time 3 times per week and scheduled trips to the Redwoods in California for week long Seminars with the renown staff. The program should take 2-3 years, and is self-paced. After that, there are 400 hours of Clinical work with a mentor. I am anxiously awaiting my textbooks, and in the meantime have been pouring over the Student Website/Platform which is incredibly rich and filled with knowledge and enthusiastic dialogue. Since I'm already a Registered Nurse, I won't be required to take Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology. As herbalists know, it's a lifetime of learning. I just knew I had to go back to my roots...especially as a prepper! Quote Link to comment
Twilight
That is absolutely marvelous!!! Something I have always wanted, a greater knowledge in herbs and uses. Quote Link to comment
Mt_Rider
I just knew I had to go back to my roots. ....roots, leaves, tinctures..... Pun intended? DH began with chiropractic but it was a natural progression into herbs and nutritional products. His unfortunate gap in knowledge is finding or growing...and producing the products. His are all professionally produced. He knows all ingredients but wouldn't know what they look like growing somewhere. I'm a little educated on that....but that course sounds terrific! Deb2of9
I would love to do this, but I just don't have the money for formal classes nor the time to take them. I am trying to learn what I can on my own, but wish I could find a mentor in the area to help me as this is one subject that strictly book learning could be lacking. I can learn what to use when, but can not learn to recognize the plants from a picture. Quote Link to comment
