Momo
I often put off medical attention for myself due to the expense and worry of using insurance. However, my little kitty gets an ear infection and off we go to the vets...$130! (He is awful sweet though.) Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
I know the feeling. My beagle always got better and quicker medical attention than I did. Hope kitty's ears clear up soon! Quote Link to comment
Ambergris
I now have a tripod kitty. Did you get those tiny liver-flavored pills that they love to take? Edited August 30, 2016 by Ambergris Quote Link to comment
The WE2's
Don't know if cats can tolerate it, but when Abby-girl's ears decide to "host" yeast...which is common in Labs according to vet...a dog groomer tuned us into one of the quickest solutions we've ever seen. The first time we paid $130 for the vet. Not now. It's called Gentian Violet (or sometimes Gentian Blue) mixed with witch hazel and a tiny bit of borax. We've only been able to find the GV online but a little goes a LONG way. Only a few drops in the witch hazel etc. I mixed a half pint jar of it up, put some in a small dropper bottle and we've been using it for over a year...the dropper bottle. The rest is safely stored under the bathroom sink. I just give her ear(s) a good wash with a baby wipe, then put a few drops of the GV on a cotton ball, give her ear(s) a good swabbing...and that's it...except when she shakes her head we stand back. GV will stain some things so I use a vinyl glove :-) Takes about 2 days to clear it up. Quote Link to comment
