Happy Birthday edensong

Thanks for the birthday wishes, gals~! I know I've been remiss in coming to the board.

A bit of an update: My daughter, Eden, is happily married (10 years now) with a daughter, Saffron Rose (age 6 1/2). She took time off from modeling and acting, but now that Saffy is in school, she is going back to her career - in smaller doses, so she can still do all the "mom" things. In the past, she was a top international model and has had several parts in various movies and TV shows. Her British hubby is a super successful master chef, who has a couple restaurants in the L.A. area and has done some TV shows as well. He's considered one of the top 20 chefs in the country.

I'm still doing my skin care business (EdenSong Essentials and a sister company, RawSum Organics), but I'm spending more time taking care of my elderly parents. They will both be 90 next year and are still living independently, but they are slowing down considerably. Dad has mobility issues and my mom's having some memory issues, along with knee problems.

I got divorced in 2009, though it dragged on through the appellate court until 2011. Fortunately, it was virtually all in my favor - if you can say that in any divorce, because I don't think anyone wins in divorce. I've been living in the country on 2 acres in the house that my EX wanted. It has become my home, though it still needs some finishing (kitchen, 2nd bath and some repairs). It is what it is. Money is tight, but I'm okay with that. It's made me become quite resourceful.

After much procrastination, I spent the last several weeks finally tackling my basement that was filled with EX's crapola. It's now got a large area for me to do crafting and I will have to learn how to use all the power tools EX left behind (he took nothing when he walked out and then tried to take it all in the divorce, but the judge nixed that)! lol That will be a challenge, but I have great neighbors that I can count on to give me pointers.

My BFF retired from Vanderbilt and moved out of the city (she lived next door to me in Nashville) and now she lives about 20 minutes down the road from me. I helped her stage her house and it sold the first day. We've been working on getting her organized in her new (smaller) home - that's been a challenge, too!

I can't believe I turned 64 this year! Wow, time flies!!!!
