Sass - you might also like to peek into Pinterest under Essential Oils. You will find all kinds of combinations of oils to mix as anti inflammatory aid. You may use the oils by themselves in some cases but for your use you might wish to invest in a carrier oil like almond or coconut oil. The coconut oil is so useful in many other applications as well. Let us know if you find more interesting /useful prep/everyday ideas along this line.

I personally, love my oils, and when dh benefits so much from their use my prep money is going first into purchasing more of them, then learning about the herbs and growing/dehydrating same for my prep pantry.

I can't stand coconut oil for much usage, but almond would be fine. It can be used in soaps and lotions too. I was trying to find nothing with oil or greasy ingredients as a matter of fact so original recipe /blog posted was exactly what I wanted. Have you ever gotten the brand name Absorbine, either for equine use or the Jr for human use. I have. It has no real high amount of oil to it and absorbs into skin fast . ( Since you are in Canada, not US, where the product is common. ) Maybe its available , its been around for years but I get tired of paying extreme prices and also the junk they tend to put in such things is very different than the more original ingredients when they came out decades ago, so I was trying for something simple and pure enough and would work.

One can use the equine version on humans too but , I wanted a small quantity. Plus the feed store went out of business some years ago.

Ah yes I remember the Absorbine Liniment well, my dad used it quite a lot. Dh's family and he used what they called "Red". I don't know if it is the same thing or not though. I always want a more pleasant smell to my stuff.

Dh even used to take a swig of the Red liniment when he was feeling poorly. I never thought it to be a good idea.
