Cat
The one constant in life is change, right? So we have our youngest at college two hours away now. She seems to be doing just fine, with only a few minor bumps here & there. Nothing major. We visited her last Saturday to take some legal papers and some forgotten stuff down. Our son is doing fine, working, etc. Our daughter with the two children that I babysit - well, it looks like she will be changing jobs. Instead of working through the week, she'll be working 2 days a week, and never on Fridays. Which means *I* will only be working 2 days a week and never Fridays!!! She wants to be home full-time, but this will be a good "for now" alternative. It starts October 1. I am SO thrilled to have this happening. As much as I love the grandchildren, they really need Mommy time. And as a side-note, tonight they took babygirl to the doctor for her 18-month checkup. This is what our DD wrote to me afterward... **(Babygirl)** was 25lb 3oz, 33 in, 90th percentile on everything, right where she should be developmentally. Doctor told us that we need to have more kids. He "strongly encourages us to continue to procreate so he can live in a world with more young people like ours" He said we're great parents and should keep up the good work. This particular doctor doesn't always have a good "manner" with patients. He creeped out our pastor's wife early on by encouraging her to do breast exams, etc. when she was in for something else - it just didn't "feel" right at that time to her. And he was kind of the same to our daughter. But he's grown into the small-town practice. Quote Link to comment

Cat
She told me this morning that the doctor told them that just that day he had seen *two* 13-year-old girls who are pregnant by their 14-year-old boyfriends. He is very much concerned for the babies they are carrying. Quote Link to comment
