Happy Weekend

Recommended Posts

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

I can't believe how bad my back hurts today. Sheeesh. I did manage to get my lawn mowed (riding mower) today though. Always a relief. I wish I would have gotten the laundry done (or even started) but it can wait until Monday. SO blessed though because: I got all of my grocery shopping finished and can stay put, it's chilly so I can use the heating pad comfortably, it's going to rain all weekend making it all snuggly, I don't have a headache so I can read, watch Youtubes or play computer games to my hearts content, lots of 'online family' to chat with if I want to, and puppies...lots of puppies.

I found a really nice ankle brace. Still having issues with that. It fits really snug and gives lots of support. It's all one piece with no heel hole that drove me crazy with the other one. I put it on and sat down with a throw over my legs. After about an hour I happened to look down and my big toe was purple! Very deep purple. Crimony, I never felt a thing. I guess I need the bigger size. Ya think! It's a medium. I figured a medium was a lady size and a large for men. I wear a size 7 to 7.5 medium shoe. It isn't like I have Fred Flintstone feet. At least I can exchange it.

Careful Jeepers, you don't want to get gangrene. My right ankle has had a stress fracture going on 5 years. Stupid thing feels better for quite a while, then, it starts to ache and I see the red mark. I know what it is. My dr. told me to "...deal with it..." because there wasn't much they could do about it anyway. He said, if they casted or braced it, there was no guarantee that it would ever be normal again. He's such a down to earth type of doctor, bluntly honest. I grab my herb pouch and some Aspercream and give it a good massage and let time make it feel better again. Too many years of wearing high heals at work and twisting my ankle. Hope your's feels better soon.

I was hoping to start on cleaning today, but instead, I managed to get a window out to take it to the glass shop. The wind was so bad during the last storm, something not only broke the window, but cut a big hole the screen. That window was covered with foil bubble wrap and we did not notice it until we walked past the window outside. :o I smiled when I was waiting for them to replace the glass in the frame, the owner had the radio on a Christian station and they had an english and a spanish bible sitting on their end tables in the waiting room. They have always been good people. The only thing that saddened me, is they are aging, we all do, but to see a business I have always relied on and respected, coming to the end of their days, is disappointing.

The pastel painting I am working on, seems to be taking forever. The clouds are intensely detailed and I have spent countless hours working on them and still am only 1/4th done, that does not include the landscape my customer wants. I usually do not spend so much time on clouds, but, that is what makes this image stand out.

Monday, I am hoping to be able to start turning the soil in my gardens. The Sabbath year has ended and I can start gardening again! :hapydancsmil: I wanted to plant the wheat seeds, non-gmo/organic, but I do not know if it is winter wheat or spring. I have been looking on-line to see what I can find out, how to plant, when to plant, how to water, etc., but IDK what type of seed it is. I may just wing it, plant it anyway and hope for the best. Wheat is supposed to be good for the soil and after letting the land rest for a year, I want to put nutrients into it before I try to plant anything else. Interestingly, being the Sabbath year, I never had to mow the back yard and only mowed the front yard once, after a rainstorm made the grass grow like a weed. PTL What grew, did well while anything that was not native, withered away. I'm good with that.

Other than that, tomorrow is house cleaning day. Then, my day of rest.

The weather is going to be lovely here this weekend. Sunny and about 18C.

I'm taking the dog out now and back on the couch after that. Still flu and ankle hurts like heck.

When possible, I'll sit in the garden a bit and enjoy the warm sunshine.

Have a great weekend all.
