Carly
My husband is out of Iraq and is now in the USA. After 5 or 6 days of going through de-mob, he will be heading home. His year of deployment is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've learned a lot during this past year. Some of it really good and some of it was sad and disappointing. I discovered who cared and who really doesn't care at all. I went through a very bad staph infection and even ended up having surgery, without my husband by my side. Some people were fabulous and some surprised me by not even making a phone call. My husband's brothers didn't even bother to send a Christmas card to him. No cards, no emails, and no packages--Nothing from them. It's really hurt him a lot. Not sure how their relationships will be when he returns. I just don't understand how families can be so uncaring and cold. We have a lot of time to make up for. It will be wonderful to be able to be together. He won't have to go back to work for almost 2 months and that is exactly what we need. Keep him in your prayers until he has boots on the ground here and is home. Carly Link to comment

themartianchick
Carly, I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to your hubby for serving and keeping us all safe. I am so sorry that his family wasn't as supportive as they should have been. Sometimes people behave badly because they just don't know how to handle the fact that a loved one is in harm's way. I hope that is the case with hubby's family and they are all ble to re-bond and forge an even stronger relationship. Enjoy your two months of uninterrupted time with your hubby! Link to comment
