Mt_Rider
Have you looked at the impending full moon at it's closest point to earth [perigee] since 1948? It's been very visible thru the later daytime and on into the nights. I've always had a fascination with full moons. I'd be drawn, even as a child, to gaze out the window of my bedroom and want to run outside into the strange light. ....I still do. I go out onto our 2nd floor porch and look down our valley. You can see everything in the light. I've been sleeping very poorly .....is there a connection with this moon cycle? This article states that many think so. http://www.foxnews.com/weather/2016/11/11/do-full-moons-and-supermoons-really-influence-people-and-animals/ This article tells of the time when it's the absolute closest to earth......but even daytime viewing has been impressive. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016/11/11/best-times-to-see-novembers-big-supermoon.html MtRider ....happy viewing to fellow "lunatics" Edited November 14, 2016 by Mt_Rider Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
I keep losing what I type a lot lately. I'll try one more time. I'm a fellow lunatic. I know for a fact that the full moon effects my sleeping pattern. When I was younger D-ex and I noticed that I had a very hard time falling asleep a day or two before and after a full moon. At first he was skeptical but we noticed I couldn't sleep even when I didn't know it was a full moon. Now he believes. I figure if the moon can control the oceans tide and I'm over 50% water... Also there was a bad earthquake today in New Zealand. Coincidence? Quote Link to comment
Zophiel_Malfoy
I got a great view of the moon this evening as I drove back from my BOL. The skies were perfectly clear, and the moon perfectly lovely! As for the EQ in NZ, while the moon and some other planetary geometry have a certain effect, the electromagnetic connection with the Sun also has a huge influence. If interested, check out the work of the Suspicious0bservers on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/Suspicious0bservers). They've gotten pretty good at predicting the timing of magnitude 6+ earthquakes, and in that past year, they started to predict the locations as well -- with interesting results!
