Annarchy
I've had a couple of people mention they got a new electric pressure cooker, for Christmas this year, and say they can can in it too. Has anyone heard or seen it? Is it safe to use for canning? Quote Link to comment
Canned Nerd
I've seen it and put it in the same category as "As Seen on TV". They are designed to sell their product without regard or even knowledge of the end result. I have one of the Electric Cookers that has an optional 10psi setting, big enough for maybe 3 pints, but I would never consider it truly safe for pressure canning. Too many variables. Annarchy
Thanks Canned Nerd. I really did not think it would be 'safe' to can with and mentioned it to them. But their arguments included, "... it has instructions for pressure canning ...." I concluded sharing my doubts and urged them to research proper, proven canning methods. Quote Link to comment
The WE2's
I just don't think it can get really hot enough to safely "can" foods. Cook them? Yes, but not can! Quote Link to comment
