Sunny Sunday

:hi: Good Morning everyone.

Crispy this morning here.

Hawk Signs

As most of you know, I like to feed the birds a couple times a day. Each morning and evening the birds gather and I scatter a couple cups of seed on the ground. Then, they flock to the ground and enjoy.

Lately tho, there have been a couple of hawks swooping in overhead around feeding time. One is a medium sized falcon hawk and the other (I think) is a ring tailed hawk, it is much bigger, standing about two feet tall. The only birds that do not scatter when they come in are the humming birds. The hummers seem to watch with amusement. :grinning-smiley-044:

A couple days ago, I found a batch of feathers in the yard, with scratches in the ground around the feathers. The talon marks measured about 3 inches wide.

Today, I scattered the seed and went back in the house, because it is only 40 degrees outside. Later when I went back outside to let Grrr out and walk around the yard, I found quite a bit of new feathers scattered around. Darn hawk got another one.

Not fair, they are stealing my :smiley_shitfan: fodder. LOL

How is your day going?

We had a hawk kill one of our birds shortly after we moved in this house. Know what I say? SSS :D

OK. So today I've packed several boxes already, am looking for "stuffers' to fill the few more I've started & will just be packing & shuffling things all day. FUUUUNNNNN. Not. Am trying turkey breast for dinner from the turkeys we picked up & butchered a couple months ago. I live such an exciting life, LOL!

Happy Sunday! I'm sort of down in the back so I've spent most of the weekend redoing some of my CD's. Burning them on disks and downloading them into my computer. I realized if I ever lost my music I'd be very sad. Many of them came from the library. I noticed the ones I keep in the car were starting to look kind of dirty. So, with those I'm burning them onto a new disk and putting a clear plastic label over top of them so I can wipe them off if I need to. I tried to wipe off one of the printable disks and some of the silver stuff came off. Yikes.

It's taking a little longer than I'd like but I'm also rearranging the tracks in the order I want. It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time so I'm glad to get it over and done with once and for all. I think I'll put a copy on a Scandisk thing too if they will fit. I'd probably have to convert from WAV to MP3 for that though. Not in the mood right now. I'll be happy to just get them in the computer so I can get them burned off soon.

Sometime I feel like they should not do that, but it IS nature at it's finest.

I don't envy you Lady. We've been in our house over 30 years. I do not know where I would start if we ever did move. Good luck.

We'll be facing a major move before too long...I've lived in this house for 35 years and it's packed. MrWE2 lived in his house (the Roost) for 25 years and it was packed. We moved soooo much of it here, sorted and sold what we didn't need here to make room for his importants. Also stuffed our 3-bay garage, the 12x26 metal barn, the 5x8 rubbermaid and the 8x12 wood barn/shed...and the wood shed at the roost is getting stuffed too :-( The only thing that makes me feel a "little" better is that the Roost is getting closer to empty, the bathroom is pretty much functional and we'll be starting the insulation, sheetrocking, painting and hanging the new kitchen cabinets. As to where we'll start here? Probably from our livingroom, then the bedroom and then the kitchen, pantry etc. If we get our livingroom & bedroom functional at the Roost I have enough in the big pantry to handle cooking etc. BIG job anyway we look at it :-( (and he wants to build a cabin on some acreage and move again???)

Sunny Sunday? Not...it's cloudy and misty here but in the upper 40's. Went to the Roost after lunch and loaded a bunch of "his" tools and some more RV and camping equipment and brought them down to store in our sheds and the garage until spring when we can sort & take some to sale at the open air market. Worked yesterday in the garage moving things to make room for the "new additions" of his tools. Never in my life have I seen a man with so many carpentry/builder tools that are duplicates...and there's a lot of "1 is none, 2 is 1"...I guess I could say 20 is 15? :-( When asked it's "I couldn't find one at the time so I bought another...it was faster"...:-( Hopefully we'll get everything hanging on his garage walls etc. and he can put his hands on it when he needs it. You would NOT believe the chaos in the garage right now :-( Just finished mixing a couple of batches of dough to rise. One for bread and one for cinnamon rolls. Did go dancing Friday night and again last night, so spending time with friends is wonderful for lifting spirits.

If the weather holds to what they're calling for, we'll drive around town Christmas eve to look at the Christmas lights with our mugs of hot chocolate and something to nibble on and then on Christmas day (it's supposed to be low 50's and sunny) we're planning to take Abby-girl and go for a hike in the woods that are near the Roost. Nothing like getting outside during the holidays to "stir you body up" and help clear the brain fog!

I'm having to carry the consequences of bad decisions on top of the consequences of bad luck. It's depressing.

Moving... My mother moved around when I was a teenager. It was always a challenge. I remember hearing, "Ohhhh, that's where that went." too often. LOL

We have a pack rat mentality. Not hoarding, I hope, lol. Buy it once and take care of it. We see so many buy, throw it out or sell it and buy it again.

Jeepers, sounds like you have a good plan, hope your back feels better soon.

I'm sorry Amber. I know what you mean about living with our choices. We all do. Too bad hindsight is 20/20. It seems like we could have a little more clues of what is in store for us down the road so we could chose more wisely. Speaking for myself there. Some days I want to say, "God, please don't teach me any more lessons today." :sigh:

Is there anything we can do to help?
