Annarchy…no words but lots of hugs and prayers for all your dealing with. DH got to come home Fri after being offshore almost a month. My friend and I planned out a major shopping haul for Sat. We went to 4 grocery stores and Sams. I was absolutely SHOCKED at the prices but we really stocked up on everything we could find on the sales. We also are working on putting together a plan to get together on weekends to work on projects for both households like making our own laundry detergent, organizing our preps and batch cooking. DH called while we were out to say he had to turn around and go back offshore so he wasn’t here today for Easter. Sometimes this Oilfield life seriously stinks but I’m trying not to complain since the work could grind to a screeching stop at any moment. Had all but two of my kids here so it was a nice lunch then I dropped the leftover ham as I was putting it away…complete loss as the dogs made it to the kitchen before I could get myself off the floor😂 Hope you all have a great afternoon

Thank you all so much for the info and encouragement. It has been a rough few weeks. She came to me this weekend and she said she decided that she wanted to stick it out. She said her plan is to go to school…do her work and come home. She has no interest in any school activities…the junior parade….upcoming senior trip or anything. She just wants to do what she has to do to get out. I was told about Easy Peasy Homeschool Curriculum and I am looking at working with her at home using it as a guide to try to fill in the gaps where she did not retain info. It breaks my heart that she won’t participate in anything and I just pray she will find a few good friends who are in her class so she will participate and make good memories. Again…from the bottom of my heart thank you for letting this Mama cry and vent

It has been a very stressful and painful week or so and I haven’t been online much. So much to catch up on. Dealing with a major fibro flare that I can’t seem to kick and it has limited me to basically work, home and sleep. Brain fog has been a bit overwhelming. Today I had a new experience. I went to a friends house who is a Reiki Practitioner and she did a session with me. It was very relaxing and I came home with an overwhelming urge to clean and energy to back it up. Laundry is going and I’m working on a meal plan for the week. (DH is offshore so it’s just DD17 and I…so hard cooking for 2) I’ve also decided to try yoga so I’m looking for someone to stream and learn from on TV or iPad. Cant wait to catch up with everyone

I am at complete witts end and don’t know what to do. My DD is a junior and she has struggled terribly with school and girl drama. I have tried to step back bc I wanted her to learn to deal with things and I’ve tried to help guide. I have failed miserably. My precious baby is at a breaking point with mean girls and jerks. Not to say she has been completely innocent…no kids is…and I have have never been one to say “not my kid”…but It is so far out of hand. A month ago she started therapy to deal with all of the bullying and her low self esteem and we saw a huge difference then last night she fell apart and said we had no idea what she went through everyday just making it through the day. She can’t even focus on school anymore and she was already struggling to catch up due to some medical issues she had when she was younger. At this point I’m thinking it would be better to pull her and look for alternate education avenues. When COVID started we opted for online learning through the school that ended up being a nightmare. I can not express to you what a nightmare it was and we put her back in brick & mortar. Most people ended up doing the same bc it was so bad. I need some advice on what options are available and if it’s possible to do now or would it be better to wait until end of this school years. I don’t even know if I would be able to adequately homeschool her myself. I work 40+ hours and they do things so different than when I was in school. If anyone else has dealt with anything like this Id love some Motherly advice as well. I’m terrified of making a bad decision that could affect her future and I’m even more terrified of further damage to her emotionally and I feel maybe at this point it would be better to remove her from the situation as much as possible.

I bought a sleepy time tea at the herb shop a while back and really liked it. This is one thing I want to learn more about. They had tons of jars with tons of stuff you can buy by the oz or whatever. I wondered if it would be cheaper for me to buy some of that and mix my own. I know nothing about herbs so I’m very eager to learn

With the crazy weather we had here this week and the chaos I have going on at work I’m playing catch up here. Praying for all of you dealing with illness, accidents and Drs right now and also for those who are dealing with contractors…what a headache! I do not envy you but it will be worth it when the work is done. I spent a lot of time at our local Herb Shop wandering around trying to figure out what everything was. I walked out empty handed and with a ton of questions. Made a quick trip to the annual street fair to check out the essential oil vendors since I’m getting back into using those. So very crowded and I just gave up and left empty handed again. Came home and did a lot of research and found a vendor to order my oils and did way better than I did at the herb shop or street fair. Spent today trying to get my house in order. DH should be coming in from offshore and my Mom and Step-Sister will be coming to stay the night Wed before leaving on their free cruise. I’ll be stressed to the max until they leave. I love my mom to pieces but my house is never clean enough when she comes.

What is Ova Crystals eggs? Mother I’m glad you mentioned the “Homemade” mixes. I had planned to make some of these like Ranch and Taco seasoning and forgot. I swear if I don’t write it down the thought is lost forever. Didn’t we have a thread of these here one time?

After cleaning out the junk in my old stash I found that I had a good base to build on. I’m so excited! I have a lot of trouble sleeping and/or staying asleep. I pulled out my diffuser and mixed the following and I slept hard as a rock! This was huge for me!! 3 - Lavender 2 - Cedarwood 1 - Frankincense I also mixed a drop of Frank with a little Vit E oil I had left over in a bottle and used on my face before bed and WOW! So now I’m adding Carriers to my wish list. My friend shared a few brands that she used and I did some research and settled on Plant Guru. I was going to use Plant Therapy until I find this one. I read all that I could find on the company and the reviews and pricing were great. I had a budget of what I planned to spend and I was able to purchase way more than I had anticipated and there was even an unsuspected discount at check out! I also purchased The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy, Revised and Expanded. I just want to have it on hand for emergencies but I plan to start a notebook on all things oils and herbs that I learn here and in my research. I think this is going to be my new favorite place on Mrs. S

Thank you Nana. I have a tray full of oils but it’s a hodge-podge of “junk”. I’m sure none of it is good and I picked it up here and there at places like TJ Max just for scent. Im sure none of them are “real”. Im treating myself to a book and a few oils this weekend to start a real collection again.
