Jeepers
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I checked out the first 3 seasons of "Call the Midwife" from the library last week and had a marathon this weekend. Didn't get anything done but I really enjoyed myself. It's a BBC series set in the East End of London in the 1950's. The background alone was worth it. It's about midwives who happen to live at a convent. It's about their lives and the lives of their patients. It's definitely 'chick flick' stuff. You see babies being born but you do not see any 'lady parts'! Mostly side views from under a leg.If you ever decide to watch it, I suggest you watch it in order because there will be spoilers from season to season. I don’t know how it’s rated but the birthing process can be intense. But if you know where babies come from and how they get here then it's safe. Except for one episode where they talk about condoms. You will see a sort of a 'model' but it isn't demonstrated. It's just a few of minutes and not the focus of the episode. I don’t remember any swearing. Nothing bad anyway. Each episode is about an hour so you see about the way they lived in the poor section of London in the 50’s and about the private lives of the midwives.I really liked the show and will definitely watch next season when it comes to the library free next year.
