ROBIE
Yesterday, a cousin I never knew I had contacted me on a genealogy website forum. I've not been to that forum in years so this was like a bolt out of the blue to me. Turns out, my cousin has started looking up the family tree herself and came across my old... old post... I admit, I was skeptical at first, but she answered all the questions and even showen me a few pictures to prove it. I cant tell you how happy I am! .... get the idea? I now know who my grandfather and great grandfather are! Fresh new starting points for me to follow!! For years I've told everyone that my family tree has eather been struck by lightning, petrified, or burned down... turns out it was just transplanted. Robie Quote Link to comment

Jeepers
That is so neat! When my bio father found me, I made him answer all kinds of questions about my mother's side of the family. I just wanted to make sure it was really him and not some scammer. Scam what??? I don't know. This could open a lot of new and exciting doors for you. Also, family info to pass on to your DS. lovinit
I'm not sure this is the place to ask about a name just because I think it is a beautiful one. Can anyone tell me the origin/meaning of the given name "Bereth" ? It is the name of our friend's grandmother, born in 1872. I think it would have been a Norwigen name, but D. didn't know his grandmother's maiden name. I have no idea why, but this lovely name has been on my mind all day. Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
According to this it is Danish. http://www.babynology.com/meaning-bereth-f17.html Quote Link to comment
lovinit
Oh Jeepers, thank you! I had only a minute to google the name this evening before we went out to a bithday party. I just can't figure out why I had such an instant connection or feeling of "needng to know more" about this name/woman today. It was a rather unnerving experience for me. Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
You're welcome! Strange things happen for a reason I guess. That site said it could be a girls name or a surname. Kind of like our Taylor, Spencer, Kennedy, Morgan etc. Good luck in your search. Quote Link to comment
