Where'd the years go?

Recommended Posts

Tonight my youngest graduates High School. It seems like yesterday I was cuddling her on my chest while recovering from her birth.

Packing her last school lunch earlier this week hit me hard. As frustrating as it has been over the years preparing school lunches for 3, it was just one of those necessary duties. Sometimes they bought lunches, but they preferred a "Mom" lunch.

She's my last one home, younger than the others by 8 and 10 years. Life was harder financially when she was young, but with the older two out, easier now. We have fewer paper photographs of her baby years because of that, but OH, so many, many more memories with the older kids.

Next year she will be heading to one of the major schools in our state. She hopes to help the world in computer sciences.

:sigh:

Loving deeply hurts sometimes...

But it's completely worth it...

Empty Nest Syndrome (spelling?) ... be on the watch for it :-) It hangs around real heavy for awhile, then fades away and peeks back in periodically for awhile, the goes on vacation and only comes periodically...and then seems to find it's own life and leave you to yours :-)

Excellent way to describe it, WE2.

Congrats to your youngest dd. :cele: But yeah, the last and first both have a little more poignancy for parents. We had two so both were sharply in focus.

(((Cat))) My one and only graduated last Friday. She's off to a great school in August but wow, what am I going to do?!? I empathize and sympathize but we'll get through this. :hug3:

(Besides, we have to keep up the illusion that we're sane and balanced so that we can spend lots and lots of time with our future grandkids someday!)
