Melodie Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Hi All I'm Mel and I was born and raised in Houma La. I now live in the Bayou Blue area. I am also prepping for whatever the future gives us. I have a small garden which I have to get my tiller fixed to get it ready for spring planting. What's good down here, we can plant late in the year. I also have 8 hens. I call them my divas who's lately been throwing me an attitude. I think it was because of Hurricane Isaac. But all is well with them. I am a single woman in my mid 50's. I work as a preK teacher at a daycare so the finances isn't all that great BUT the grace and mercy of God is. I'm still reading posts from years ago and having a ball! I and my husband are the "over 60" babyboomers but lively! We have our "Lab Brate" we call Abby. She's 9 months old this week, other than that we're empty nesters who love to RV, motorcycle ride, canoe, kayak, hike, and you name it...she goes with us. Even to the rifle range, tractor pulls!
