sewandsew
My question is how to seal powdered milk in a food saver bag? Do I need to add oxygen absorber also? Or is it better to buy it from honeyville grain and just leave in can? Also need to know if 100cc oxygen absorber too much for a pint in food saver bags? Oh also, dehydrated foods in food sealer bags. Or are they best just to put in jars? Trying to save my jars for soups and jellies. Appreciate all the help!!!! Link to comment
Violet
You just add the oxygen absorbers to mylar bags. If you vacuum seal you won't need them. I am not sure about the size of the O2 absorbers in a pint jar. I don't know what mine are. I would have to go hunt them down. Dried foods are safe either way. In a jar or in a vacuum seal bag. Well, not jerky. That should be kept frozen. Link to comment
sewandsew
What is the best way to seal powdered milk and instant potatoes? Worried they might get into my food sealer. I'm trying to use food saver bags for smaller quantities and them put them in mylar bags. Thanks for all help Link to comment
Violet
You put in paper bags, tape down the tops, leave in the paper bags, then into the vacuum seal bags. That or some say you poke air holes with a handle of a wooden spoon or something, then put a coffee filter on the top of the powdered food, then vacuum seal. Link to comment
