Bed Ridden

Momo

Recommended Posts

I've been missing for a few days..

I have been pretty much immobile since last Saturday. My feet have swollen up pretty bad and I cannot walk at all. I did not even get out of bed for three days. At least the swelling has gone down a good bit and the pain is gone (except for when I put weight on my feet) We have alot of handicapped equipment around here from taking care of DH and his mother but none of it helps me much. I didn't even try to get online..it was too much effort to sit up until today. At least I have turned a corner but it is so slow.

If I had good insurance I would have probably broken down and gone to the hospital but I have a high deductible so I might as well not have any insurance (Thanks Obamacare)

Poor Dh felt so helpless. I am pretty heavy and he is nearly frail now with all his health problems. I think we've got this one covered but I will need to focus on keeping myself in tip top shape after this. I am not a spring chicken anymore and I cannot count on springing back overnight from health problems.

I can sympathize!!! A month later, I'm still in bed with heating pad 3/4 ths of the day. Feels so good to get up and around...even a little bit, doesn't it. Sure makes one appreciate what we can take for granted...mobility! :hapydancsmil: Ugh...that smilie still makes me dizzy tho... LOL

Hope you'll continue to recover from this bout of whatever, Momo.

I hope it gets better soon. I am going to ask that you check your blood pressure. You may also need a heart check. Swollen feet can be symptoms of either having serious problems. If its blood pressure, reduce salty foods and salt intake for a few days and see if that also helps bring down the swelling. I would rather see you go to doc or ER if necessary to get checked in case anything serious has begun. We get older, stuff happens like this if you don't know where its coming from for sure. Then once you know , if its blood pressure, a water pill may be the simple answer.

Reminds me of when I have to walk the eight miles back and forth. excruciation results and lots of bed rest and only hobbling around to get hot tea and a meal a little bit of the time for a few days til they feel better. But for you, it could be anything if you do not know why yet. It would be a good thing if you could get a work over and be sure, then you can resolve to deal with it so maybe that sort of thing stays minimal. We want you around a good long time!

I finally learned that diabetic neuropathy , along with pain enhancing fibro, is what drives my feet nuts. Why cant a doctor tell me that? They don't know very much when they cannot tell you that when you are a type 2 diabetic like I am. It's been going on a couple years now. I know it will get worse. In the winter its not so bad, thick soft socks and boots with a good inside sole help a lot. This is just an example....... it is helpful to know what is causing the pain or swelling/ both ....... then you can take measures to help it and if its critical, like your heart, absolutely, doc visit if you can swing it somehow.

I am finally able to hobble the 2 steps to the wheelchair to get to the bathroom a couple times a day. I have to get better by Monday or I could lose my part time job. I have missed the maximum days allowed in a row. This is the first I have missed in 2 years of working there but since it is part time they have weird rules.

I am diabetic and fat and have about 6 or 7 minor complications too. I have high blood pressure but it has never gotten too high. I have got almost all of the swelling gone now. The horrible pain is gone..it only hurts on one foot when I put weight on it.

Maybe someone is trying to tell me I need to lose some weight! lol

DH gave me the mail. I wish he hadn't. Most of his recent hospitalization and tests were not covered. I hope it is something simple like a miscoding. I am already miserable enough without being on the phone a long time to get that straightened out. How can they say a gall bladder didn't need to be removed? Also the heart DR. did a new genetic test to let you know what kind of drugs are most effective for your body. He told us it was covered by Medicare but apparently Medicare didn't know it. lol. GRRRRR

Thanks for the kind words..I know alot of us have similar problems.

Wrong code and other stalling techniques are commonly used by insurance companies. It's done on purpose to avoid paying out and keeping the money for another month or two. It's highly unethical....and if you don't keep on them to pay their due, they can get by with theft as well as untimely payment. {don't get me started on this GAME}

So don't take no for an answer, Momo. Know that they lie and know that a good half of the people working in offices are not bright enough to be there.....and/or .....do not care if they do anything right during their 8 hr shift. Don't take no for an answer.

MtRider :(:angry: 'Taint fair!!!! ....hope you won't lose your job!!!! :pray:
