I haven't had TV for 20+ yrs so I've only seen a few DVDs of the new Dr.Who from .....well, that one has been quite a few years ago now too.

 

But DH and I love the old classic DrWho folks. My favorite is number...four or five. The wide-eyed, curly haired one with the LONG scarf.

 

Is there a newer one on now?

LilDD watched it and LOVED it. You mean the 50th anniversary special, right? I guess there's a Christmas special coming, and then a new season...?

 

My first Dr was #9, and I've seen some of the earliest ones, but I'm woefully behind.

DD2 went to a Dr Who party and made Adipose's to take to the party. Yesterday was also DD2's birthday. She got a bow tie for her birthday bow ties are cool but I could do without the fez.

I also got her a sonic screwdriver for Christmas.

 

I like #6 but my favorite is #10 The best companion was Donna.

David Tennant and Catherine Tate were a great combo.

Right Cat, cool your LilDD liked it. DH is waiting for the Christmas episode. Some of the episodes have given me nightmares, I do not like the weeping angels.

 

Did anyone notice the new doctor standing in the ranks at the end of the show? DH has been teasing me he already knows what the new Dr. looks like. I guess he found it on the net. I will wait until they reveal him on the show.

We all love the Dr. Didn't watch it as we don't have cable, but we are patiently (or not) waiting for it on Netflix

 

I'm the only one in the house that grew up on Classic Dr Who & LOVES it. I only have 1 kid that I've been able to get into the classic. No one else likes it. Goobers.

The new Doctor has been in a previous episode but not as the Doctor.

It has happened before when a actor Colin Baker was in a episode with Doctor #5 Peter Davison and then went on the become the 6th Doctor.

 

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat was initially opposed to Matt Smith’s wish to wear his now-iconic bow tie.

 

All the Silurians seen since 2010′s “The Hungry Earth” are played by the same three actors.

 

All of David Tennant’s suits (including the jackets) are made out of off-the-rack pants.

 

“The Impossible Astronaut” (2011) was the first episode filmed in US in which the actors playing the Doctor and his companions actually participated in shooting; the earlier “Daleks in Manhattan” featured footage shot in New York, which was then digitally blended with the Welsh locations in which David Tennant and Freema Agyeman were shooting.

 

The TARDIS has a six-sided control console because it was designed to have six operatives.
