Let's put our minds together and make a general first aid/ winter med kit:

Everyone list a few items they think people should have on hand :

1. Bleach
2. Rubbing Alcohol
3. Hydrogen peroxide
4. Flu meds
5. Band aids in all sizes, and types

Acetomenophin
Ibuprophin
Neosporin
Iodine
Gauze pads and tape
Suture kits (i'm trying to find those)
Benedryl
Ipecac
Gatorade type fluids
Ace bandage
Sunscreen
Aloe

That's all I can think of this early in the morning that I've recently bought for my stash.

Not sure what's in a "suture kit", but you should have:

tweezers
clean scissors (no kids, you CAN'T use those! )
needle and clean thread
sterile eye wash

Sportsmans Guide carries some kits from Military surplus. Good prices, too.

I had to order suture kits for the clinic once and the way we found sources was checking with the local hospital purchaser. Also perhaps your doctors office could give you this information (whoever buys for them).

I guess I need more of that then!

I used all mine up making that elderberry tinature. You
should have seen the look on the liqure store clerks
face when he saw what I was buying. I looked at him and
said "Don't ask!" He didn't. He's going to look at me
REALLY funny when I go back for more! I was buying the
biggest bottles they sold and I had 3 of them.

edited to add: They were 1/2 gallon bottles.

Vodka....

Sams Club or Costco (if you don't have a card then get a friend to pick it up for you) sells 1/2 gallon bottles cheaply.. right around $10.00 a half gallon, different prices in different areas, but only a few cents.

If people want to know.. they are Christmas presents, they are for the punch bowl for the Christmas party!

One piece of advice,,, never pass by a clearance or reduced price merchandise carts at the stores....
I found sterile bandages 10 to a pack for $1.50.. usually quiet a bit more than that.
So I have 10 boxes of sterile bandages
Bandaid antiseptic wash
3 boxes of assorted sizes bandaids
neosporin
large medical type cotton swabs
alcohol pads
different tapes, paper and material type
scissors.

and that is just the beginning...

I live in a dry county. That mean a 40 min trip to the
bording county at Last Chance Liquor. 1/2 gallon is
$13.50. They have a drive thru. A plus.
