500 bread recipes means about 30 extra pounds...

"One day, we’re going to stand before the gates of Heaven. Some of us want to be able to walk up there in a white robe and we want to sing Abba Father and Amazing Grace and we want to say to the Lord, “I worshiped You.” But I want you to think about this: Heres the way I want to enter the gates of Heaven. I want to come skidding in there on all fours. I want to be slipping and sliding and I want to hit the gates of heaven with a bang. And when I stand up and I stand before Christ, I want there to be blood on my knees and my elbows. I want to be covered with mud. And I want to be standing there with a ragged breast plate of righteousness. And a spear in my hand. And I want to say, “Look at me, Jesus. I’ve been in the battle. I’ve been fighting for you.” Ladies and gentlemen, put your armor on and get into battle. God bless you." ~ General William G. Boykin, U.S. Army (ret.)

I can see where your opinion is coming from cat, but think of the other side of it too. And recipes from books are usually by in some form or other famous chefs.
Wether it's the pizza place owned by a little italian women where you would drive 20 miles to eat. Or a TV chef. they all got there for a reason, those reasons are usually based on many more than one persons specific tastes.

I do however agree that it is nice to share a recipe after cooking the meal, it makes you feel appreciated a little more, and if it is genuinely your own recipe then all the better.

Good Morning - Pineapple pie recipe with stored foods? Sounds very good, especially with cooler weather here now (okay, any pie recipe sounds good no matter when!). Anyhow, would you please post the recipe? Thanks!

I buy wheatberries from the feedstore, and then soak them and cook them til just tender in the pressure cooker, then dehydrate them. Good for tossing into soups.

Monkey see, monkey do...I think I'll do that too (pressure cooker).

I've been dehydrating cooked beans, wheat berries, lentils, etc. etc., because in a crisis situation, I don't want to use up precious fuel and water...not to mention cooking odors possibly attracting unwanted attention, etc. etc.

I've made a lot of wheat berries using a form of "thermos bottle" cooking, using quart canning jars and tons of insulation...but none in a pressure cooker.

How long do you cook the wheatberries in the pressure cooker, what quantity, etc. (RECIPE PLEASE?)

October 29, 2009: I just discovered that my email accounts have been hijacked by a virus...

If anyone gets any emails from me, please delete them. Do not open them. (They will not have been sent by me.)

If my email is hijacked, then possibly my forum accounts and my blog may be also... I am not sure oif this but to be safe, I thought I'd notify everyone of this possibility. If you visit my site, make sure you are running a good antivirus program that is uptodate. I am currently working with blogspot, etc. etc. on this.

pssst... Norton sucks a bag of lemons.
