I was sent a strawberry bag by a wonderful friend of mine. It has 18 holes in it. Do I have to fill ALL 18 holes, or can I only fill, say, 10?

I dont see why you cant just fill the 10 if you only have 10 crowns, stuff the remaining holes with something like newspaper if the soil is falling out.

My strawberries are in 2 beds and will have to start a third for all the baby runners, sort of thin things out

Or put parsley, catnip, or other strawberry-sized plants in the other holes!

Good idea! I was thinking too, that maybe I don't have to fill it with dirt all the way, therefore only having soil up, say 4 levels instead of 5. I dunno. Been thinking about this all morning. Thank you both!

I think I lost a couple, but a couple of them have flowers on them!!!

I believe they need watering every day as the bags do heat up quite fast compared to growing in the ground and hold the heat a lot longer

The more dirt you put in it, the slower it will heat up and dry out. We have to water our hanging baskets of strawberries twice a day.
