The freezer is so over used I wouldn't hide my stash there. I'd also be careful about putting it where something can be easily picked up and carried away. Especially if it is cute.

I'm always afraid I'm going to lock myself out of the house. My son's phone number is programed into my phone so I don't remember it. I have a garage door opener code box thingy but can't figure out how to set the code. I've tried and son tried. Guess I'll have to call the company. It's ONLY 3 years old.

I saw a cute little frog where you can hide a key inside for outside. I almost got it and then thought that it is too cute. And too easy for someone to pick up. Then they would have my frog and a key to my front door. Then I saw something better. It was a little round plastic box where you put part of it in the ground and the top looks just like a yard sprinkler pop up head. Stick with me here...

The sprinkler head box looked similar to one of those plastic containers film comes in. Those I have for free! So I now have a key inside the film container and buried in the....

Oh, and hiding a key in a flower pot is too common too.

Now a days thieves are ripping into the walls to steal the pipes.

Yes,Yes,Yes!

Especially copper pipes and wires. I have plastic in the house area but copper pipes in the basement. I think copper is used in air conditioner units too.

GP linked to a page with a different idea for smaller stashes.

If I were going to put anything outside I'd use the heavier seal-a-meal bags and vacuum pack. Zips have a tendency to fail and the plastic isn't as heavy.

You might want to consider what disasters might befall. Fire, flood, tornado can wipe you out quite rapidly. Even a person helping you with post disaster clean up can end up tossing your stash not realizing what it is. Just a few more thoughts on the subject. I don't have any real answers for it either. I think my ideal would be some sort of buried concrete vault about the size of a trash can and a lid that didn't look like anything could be under it. You could put all your important papers and such in it as well as well greased firearms.

How about hiding bills in a sanitary napkin box! LOL Maybe coins in a bag of beans? Just remember...every man's trash is another man's treasure! And a thief will always take the path of least resistence...meaning they won't really "hunt"...they'll just do a pitch and dump inside your property and see what comes to the surface, what's readily seen after turning things over, what's obviously perfect for hiding things. Just think...where would YOU look?

Just ran on to another one that I think will work for us. Aluminum beer cans that have twist on caps...then dip the caps into melted wax several times, let them cool...then bury them in a favorite spot.

Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread...amen."

Phillipians 4:19..."And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus...amen"
