Hi,
I came across this forum while searching for severe winter weather preparedness. I liked the gentle approach here so I joined. I've thought about joining another survival forum where I lurk but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
I'm from the mountains of SW Virginia. I've been reading that the southern Applachians should expect a much colder, much wetter winter than normal this year. We do lots of canning, freezing and drying of food and really don't buy much food from the stores. I buy grains, etc from a co-op that I can order from every other month.
I'm having fun reading all the posts on this forum:) I look forward to getting acquainted with folks here.

Hey I know you just got here but tonight (Thursday) we are all meeting in the 'shoutbox' room (under 'community links over here to the left <--- second one down) you just click on it and it will open a new box and you can just sit and watch or join in. It is going to be about this kind of thing?
