I'd say that's a red flag if there ever was one.

It just wouldn't be quiet if that happened, lol.
Obviously the airport wouldn't answer any questions about this oddity , either.
Kinda reminds me of going up with Dad for his touch and go's with his cessna.... but not on that level these days!
I don't have a problem going to a regular military jet fighter pilots ( routine border patrols and through my area of the Park here_)emergency if it lands in my neck of the woods here due to flying issues that make them drop or eject.... but well, this doesn't fit those parameters.
As long as it can take EMS to get to a scene around here, if you are close by, you go to help if you can, and its ingrained from my own navy aviation days and childhood. Had an uncle who would do that for crashed pilots in the canyon above his home whenever they occurred. He was an original paramedic/firefighter in LA county..... He and one of my cousins would race up on their dirt bikes and save the day and usually the pilot and stop a forest fire starting until rescue assistance could come.
and it can be rugged here too, still, not the same parameters at all ..... more 'trouble' to respond in this case, lol..... and it would be unnerving to see that.
They need to go practice somewhere else!

The SCOTUS upholding Obamacare. If that's not a red flag, don't know what is.
It's a BIG Red Flag to me, but not surprising at all in view of the direction the president and the liberal direction towards Socialism (or worse), but it will take a long while before the people realize the 'reality' of it all and it will then be too late to change. And, despite swearing to all that 'ObamaCare' was not a tax, the SCOTUS clearly stated it is a tax and IMHO health care will not be cheaper down the line. It shows a small tip of the iceberg that will eventually sink the freedom of the people.

We were at Costco post decision but I didn't know outcome until we were at the checkout line and checked drudge. I grab a few peoples attention with my "You're kidding" and facial expression. There were a few older gentlemen looking at the long term food preps that they sell (one month/one person). I normally never see ANYONE looking at them. I think a few more people woke up today.

Our budget concerns too....... oh, joy.
Yep. I also heard last night that due to the drought and fires that food costs, meat and such will be affected still, so despite gas prices falling some, I am going to start packing in the shelf stable meat and dehydrating jerky or diced jerky so it will fit into jars. Plus other basics need to be filled in more ... etc etc. And I still need boots........ and oh, my copay for the next 3 months at least......... ya know, it just doesn't compute well, or add up well. No money to be sure of travel for holidays even if my ticket is paid for at this rate..... well I didnt think I was going to do that anyway, but for sure wont now. I need preps, period. If they want to send me a gift debit card instead I will appreciate that very much. Could use it!
oh, note to self, do not rely on kindle ...... I think its totally fubared, wouldn't shut down and froze on my surfing the net yesterday, took hours before it turned off after running the battery down in the week hours. ( do not rely on any thing electronic or electrical in my case, basically, for preps or communications help! Red Flag , that is too) . Ya never know. The anti virus only scans apps, not downloaded kindle books btw, nor the websites??????? so that is a big problem.
And I didn't do anything to my kindle either for it to behave like that. I will try and run one more operations test on it today , then find out what to do to replace it since there is a 2yr warranty on it. ugh. Still, can't count on it. not even as a daily planner at this rate and I was using that for appts and notes. grrr.

You'll have to read the whole post, but basically the author says that maybe this will give the right the "kick in the pants" that they need to really swing into gear for November.
Not that I'm recommending either party....

So I will take that help gladly and thankfully and try and stock up better.
Worked on lots of appts for this next week and shopping thursday next week for basics and whatever preps I can swing. medical and dental appts lined up to begin with and at least the doc I see at the VA this round is NOT the jerk I saw last year that was part of the problem. So I might actually get somewhere this time... these medical needs sorely need to be addressed and are major enough for me , definitely before stuff really hits the fan. I think today's 'moves' by Scotus and such , well its going to heighten tensions, and that means we need to keep alert about things. These are red flags, period to me.
Just trying to be level headed about this and be ready , or more ready for anything these days. Watching the progress and what happened with in Colorado Springs is a good example, for disasters and I feel bad about Florida and all that flooding... its hard to get out of dodge even if you have wheels if you dont save money for gas and have stuff to put in your car and alot of folks abandoned their animals there. Granted with the Waldo Canyon fire and the 65mph winds you maybe didnt have time to rescue horses and such, and they were asking for help as many horses ended up loose and running the roads amongst moving traffic , scared to death and fleeing in bewilderment.
Obviously hurricanes and tornadoes and earthquakes are good to prep for too, and people end up severely displaced... some of these things give you better warnings. But even the forecast models were so far off, the weather is so tricky these days, for the FL TS storm. I feel for everyone, but there is this other stuff and I see more unrest and more hardship adding up as time goes on. so, its good to just keep on the prepping journey and figure out more details as we go depending on what our individual circumstances are.
And sometimes its ok to take an hour or so and enjoy a good book that has some funny lines in it and relax too, so I put that in my day or I just get too stressed and my mind wont settle down and that affects my ability to go to sleep no matter how tired I may really be and that doesnt help anything. Especially as long as this has been a problem.
Tomorrow I'm going to start doing some part time help on Fridays to help a place that has helped a lot of my peers in my county and that ought to be something good. Who knows it may be a way to make some good connections here in the area after a while . I will help when I feel up to it or don't have anything else that has to be done on Fridays this summer. Probably be good for me

Mine is still 50c/loaf. I'm using grain I purchased in 07.
THIS is why I prep.
I can't afford those prices.

Bread I can get for about $1.50 a loaf and milk is $2.49 a gallon. This is stoneground whole wheat bread. Some brands are more, but I still pay that for the kind I get.
