I know that exercise is very important and all of you do too.

I have been wondering if anyone is interested in counting miles this year again, if you are, please let me know by posting under here that you are. Thanks.

If no one posts in the next few days, I will not bother to post any miles from here on out.

My treadmill had not been working and I didn't do much walking other than shopping and housework and such, so I've been slacking in posting. I now have a new treadmill and will start walking again. I'm sort of waiting until things calm down here and then I really need to get busy and work hard at this.

Also, my computer is being soooo slow and I am not sure why, but, am in hope to be able to get a new one in a few months.

I know I haven't been on much at all lately and I am sorry, please don't stop exercising because I haven't posted.

I'll count miles with you Snowmom.

I really need to keep up my walking, however slow my miles are. Last week, I walked to the post office twice, big whoop, 2 blocks and back, but it reminded me of you and how you are always encourage us to keep on exercising, even when we do not want to.

Yesterday I took the new camera my DH got me for Christmas and walked in the desert for a half an hour to find something to photograph. That added 1/4 th mile to this weeks total. :happy0203:

I'm in, too! I don't use a treadmill and I have found that my cheap pedometer doesn't work very well but I can kinda gauge how far I walk by the time that it takes for me to walk it. I mostly walk inside in the winter because of my winter issues, but I do enjoy it! It is my ME time and allows me to clear my head...No music, no tv...just the voices in my head!!:cheeky-smiley-067:

This is great. :) Ok, so next Monday, I will post a 'Miles Walked' thread and we can all post under that what we have walked this week. :)

I sort of got discouraged when no one was walking or posting so, now I know we are walking and exercising together. :)

Thanks you two. :bighug2: :)

The list is at the top of the threads, or it should be. But, all kinds of things count as miles. :)

I am glad you got a new treadmill. As cold as it is in Minnesota it would be hard to get much walking done without it!
Tell Mom the cat did it!

I am in too.

As far as cheap pedometers, I don't use them. I have a Garmin Forerunner for running and a handheld Garmin GPS for walking or hiking.

I like using a treadmill because, although it can be boring, I can keep track of my mileage as well as control the speed I am running. It helps with increasing my speed. I am a little OCD about keeping track of my mileage.

Sorry ladies I have to jump in on this one........................
You have a GPS and are running on a treadmill?

What does it say?
You are here.

Still here.

Still here ?...........
STILL HERE! :laughkick:

Now to be fare I do walk most days but I don't keep track but last year I came in now and then to see how you all where doing. And some days it made me go out and walk. even I didn't want to. (thanks for that)
Yesterday I did over 3 milks as it was nice out for the first time in days. I also walk in the house if I can't go out. Like when waiting for Lori to come from work, I walk from the front door to the back door (4 rooms). I touch the front door and then walk to the back , touch it and turn around and go back. I can pace myself or pick up speed as I go and I keep going until Lori pulls into the driveway most time that is about 10 - 15 miniutes. Last week she gave a ride to someone who had car trouble and I thought 'if she does get here soon I am doing to DIE!'

The other funny thing is sometimes Tobie (the cat) will walk with me....... back and forth, touch the door , pet the cat,... back and forth, touch the door , pet the cat,... back and forth, touch the door , pet the cat,... back and forth, touch the door , pet the cat. LOL

I am so happy that there are more than just a couple who want to keep track of miles. :) :) It really doesn't matter how you do your miles, and no, I don't use one of those pedometers, as the ones I had never really worked. :(

Just keep track of your miles this week and then we will post them next Monday or Tuesday when either Momo or I make a thread for Posting Miles. :)

I don't walk on the road as it is a highway and there is just NO way I would walk alone on it.

Good idea, M. walking and waiting for Lori. :) I bet the cat loves it when you walk and pet it. :)

Now, I just have to get myself into the mood to walk and down and do it. Also, I have to ride the bike and that gives you miles too, don't forget. Yes, it is all in the basement and I have an old TV and player, so I can watch movies as I walk and ride. :)

There should be a thread that is at the top called, "How to count your miles" or something like that. :)

Thank you all for wanting to join in the walking. :) :bighug2:

No, Michael :shakinghead: I just use the Forerunner when I am not running on the treadmill. The treadmill has its own mileage calculator on it.

Must say that I was laughing with you post because that's how it sounded. You must think I am really, really OCD about mileage. :D

Lori said "why didn't you tell them that Sometimes you carry the cat!"
Oh right - Sometimes I carry the cat............. tobie weights 18+ pounds!
Now you know WHY she walks with me. LOL
But if I carry her then it is like I am walking with weights.

Count me in! I need to get ready for a backpacking trip in March, so this will be good to keep me accountable. Last year before it got cold I was walking about 2miles a day, just down the road and back. I might go to my parent's house and use their stationary bike when it's too cold. (like right now)

Economic control is not merely control of a sector of human life which can be separated from the rest; it is the control of the means for all our ends.
