Oh yes, I agree with you (but can't watch that with dial-up)

People around here are starting to see all the trouble with facebook and how ANYBODY can get in to your stuff.
Also we try not to go to any site that just 'looks funny' as we know that is where trouble begins.

For those with dial-up. It's about smartphones that geographically pinpoint the location when you take a picture. Software allows anyone with a click to see where a pic is taken. Easy peasy find on Ebay if someone posts a valuable object and naughty people would want to know where the owner lives.
Cos smartphone's location detection is on 24/7. And it shows in the code when you take a pic.
She looked at the wolf with a sweet smile . The wolf asked what was in her basket. `Food for Grandmother`she said..
She then opened her basket and took out a sawn off shotgun.
A few days later she walked through the woods in her new wolfskin furcoat...

Lesson learned, so not mess with girls who are brave enough to go into the woods on their own.

Not totally true--you the user of said phone CAN turn OFF the GPS linking to your phone pics. Google up how to turn off geolocating for your model phone.

Vic you are right. It is definitely possible to turn off the GPS software.
You know what was weird about this for me? I've worked as a software developer for two years and the thought of everything a smartphone does didn't even pop into my head. DS is apparently smarter and already knew when I told him about this. He thought everybody knew the software is on 24/7.
If I'm an average user, it means most people will not know this and go through life happily with a good traceable signal.
Stupid eh?
Cos my current phone has GPS but the program needs to be activated before it is on, so to speak.

So good of you to point out that is is possible to turn it off.
