I too, mostly as an older observer, I see the affects on my son, his wife as they do lose friends, several in fact over the years... and I am glad to say my DIL is now transferring to Ft Worth Recruiting station and will have a three year break.
I think everyone is exausted with continual war.... and I see the reactions to that continual stress taking it's toll, so God Bless and keep going, you maintain the homefront and I hope you have many who are supportive of you when you need it, including us, always. I can say if you doubt yourself, you are truly stronger than you know, in all the ways you need to be. You went through a lot this year already... and it will be wonderful to have him home soon.... you can pat yourself on the back ok? Stand tall, ya done good!

Thank you and your husband for your sacrifice.
BIL is AF, newly married currently stateside, just moved bases. But his last TOD was in Chili training their AF when the earthquake hit. They ended up running missions with the Chilean AF as part of their training. DH's good friend is career Marine and just deployed for a year to the desert, first time since he has been married and had their son (2). One of "my girls" just went to Japan and her little sis just came back from Afghanistan. So, I don't have true first hand experience.
