Oh my! So glad you can rescue a friend in such dire need! Take care!
"Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed." Ps 57:1
"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. " Eph 5:15,16
"Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard" 2 Kings 19:6

Have you hugged your goose today?

Kappy, are you out of there yet? We will be glad to get news of being on the road and then arriving at your new home. Still praying for your safety.

in all of your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will make your paths straight.

SUCCESS! It costed a lot more than anticipated, but I have no regrets. For those that know Gary, my BF was in the Black Oak subdivision...'nuf said. I have never seen such horrid living conditions, and I've seen some mean-a$$ slums. I went well heeled and thank goodness did not need to use anything. BF is still unable to believe the new place - she says repeatedly she feels like she was liberated from a prison. It will be a while before everything is un-packed, but she and the pets are safe now. (The neighbors had been knows to steal, torture, or eat unattended pets....) We go back only to clean in a week or so; nobody in the neighborhood knows she moved. We shall see if the house has been torched when we return (it would save us some work cleaning it...I always did enjoy irony). In the new house, it is so quiet she had a little trouble sleeping the first night. The look on her face was priceless when she sat down in the recliner I had bought for her. (We both were a little teary-eyed I think.) My dad and brother came over and helped move the heavy stuff (cast iron wood stove and refrigerator). BF got a kick out of listening to their joking around as they worked. I was deeply touched that they would take on such hard work for me, and a little embarassed that I had to ask for help. I don't think I will ever get used to asking for help. Guess who is getting Christmas stollen and other German goodies for Christmas this year?? (We both like baking.)

I'm so glad you are both safe and happy! You have been such a blessing!

I would not go back to clean! If she is selling, chances are it will get trashed long before it sells and if she is renting, just let the landlord keep the deposit. He probably will anyhow, clean or not.

I second CGA motion. It is time to let go and enjoy. Please don't take a risk in going back. If she is going to sell it, let the realtor hire someone to clean it. The expense of going back would probably cover the cleaning expenses or as CGA said landlords always seem to find 'enough' wrong so they can keep the deposits. May the LORD give you wisdom in knowing what to do.
