The Paige fire is about 20 miles from me. Downwind at the moment. Winds are high again today 20-30mph with gusts that about knock me off my feet.

She then opened her basket and took out a sawn off shotgun.
A few days later she walked through the woods in her new wolfskin furcoat...
Lesson learned, so not mess with girls who are brave enough to go into the woods on their own.

I repeat Martian's question: Do you have someone on standby that can get you and yours OUT? They lined up volunteers with horse trailers, etc in our county when the evac was enacted. You git on the bus, y'hear.
OK Lord, I'm about to start really fretting and when that happens, the only thing I know to do is to start praying. It works; fretting doesn't!
In Jesus we pray,

They said 476 homes have been lost and the fire is up to 25k acres. It was 10k yesterday.
We can ride out with a couple of neighbors, but no room for animals. I'd have to cut fences on both sides and hope for the best.
I think if the wind changed it would blow the fire back into burned over areas and that might help a lot. It is uncontained and aggressive and moving fast.

You are right about the area that has burned being a protection for you if the wind shifts. 25K is a huge fire-break! So depending on just how the 'lay of the land' and the burned area is situated, you may well be protected.
OTOH, keep a sharp eye out cuz the winds that y'all are describing [on TV too] could send embers from the burned area backwards. Got to be a lot of char and charcoal still alight there.
Lord, we pray continuously for CGA, DD, her sister Gina and that family, friends Sean and Lisa. Give them the wisdom to know that wildfire is not like staying thru a hurricane. Severe wild fire burns EVERYthing....and moves very quickly. God I pray for the animals that CGA relies on for her and DD to live. Move in special ways for a better solution for them if it becomes necessary to move them out. I know the "cut the fences" plan. It's one of my plans too but...we'd rather YOU have something safer in mind. Our critters are just kinda dumb and we'd always like to care for them.
In general we pray again for everyone else involved this fire. Protect those that fight it. The heat must be nearly unbearable. Give them a clear mind so that they are making good choices as they do their jobs.
