{sigh} Well, YES I can really do this. Said goodbye to Mz MM yesterday. The event was HARD....making the choice was HARDER....the days leading up to the actual event were the HARDEST. As it was when I had to put down my dearly beloved horse, after-the-fact was not as bad. It's done. God reminded me of several reasons to be glad in this choice. She truly was a character and lovable but...she surely WAS high-maintenance. And that's not good for me.

When Roan finally got the idea of what was going on, MM was in the trailer. She snorted and whinnnnnney and clomped around. Most active I've seen her in a while. After about a half hour, I let her go out into the pasture at large. She rushed to the south and didn't see her long-eared roomie. THAT got to me. :(

Oddly tho, she settled down OK. I was worried cuz there were no horses in the next door pasture at this time either. But... she's ok too. We're both ok. I'm still spreading the word that there is a free older horse to a good home. It will be very weird not to have SOMEONE out in that pasture!!! But, I'll get thru it.

Thanks for you're support in that hardest time...the days leading up to really doing this. Now it's done. Felt good to take down the barricades I'd put up to keep the donkey out from beneath the porch. Life will be easier, I think. That's the point.... But...I'll miss her anyway.

I thought about you so often yesterday! I checked in a few times but didn't want to say anything until you did. Throughout this difficult time, that I know you are having, I hope when things settle down, your life will become easier.
