What kind of yarn do you use to make pot holders and hot pads? I want to make sum for Christmas gifts and all the yarn I have looked at I am afraid will melt if and when it touches a hot pan.

Use 100% cotton yarn.

Definitely stay away from acrylics! I agree on the cotton.

Some folks also use scrap wool for hot pads but definitely do not use acrylic. It might melt.

Cotton, bamboo (expensive), cotton cotton cotton.
She looked at the wolf with a sweet smile . The wolf asked what was in her basket. `Food for Grandmother`she said..
She then opened her basket and took out a sawn off shotgun.
A few days later she walked through the woods in her new wolfskin furcoat...

Lesson learned, so not mess with girls who are brave enough to go into the woods on their own.
