No it's not an optical illusion. It's real and I'll go there soon to take pics and show you it's real.
It took an American to show me what's going on in my own country. Figure that!
She looked at the wolf with a sweet smile . The wolf asked what was in her basket. `Food for Grandmother`she said..
She then opened her basket and took out a sawn off shotgun.
A few days later she walked through the woods in her new wolfskin furcoat...

Lesson learned, so not mess with girls who are brave enough to go into the woods on their own.

That's pretty cool! But, doesn't the water level ever change when it rains? Where does that water go?

I was wondering the same thing Dogmom. It looks pretty neat though. The Dutch sure have a way with water.

Lol, I see one outlet pipe for drainage water to enter the moat. No doubt there is an outlet to let water out of the moat once it gets above a certain level. Into a ditch that's streaming. It's a two hour drive from here.
Monday I've got my eye surgery, once that has healed, I'll go there to investigate.
I love the fact it's too deep to wade (think someone carrying weapons) and too shallow for a boat. Clever cloggies :)
