As you all can tell by now, my DD, my niece and I made it home safe and sound.
We had a very good trip and the wedding was great. I was able to see nieces and nephews I had not seen in years as well as some of their kids and grandkids I had never seen. Wow, that makes me sound old. Of course when you are the youngest in the family, that helps.
We had not told my niece we were coming, and the look on her face when we walked in just before the rehearsal was priceless.
We did run into some snow and slush going out, but, not a lot. Then, coming back we ran into a lot more snow and slush. We saw an 18 wheeler jack-knifed in the other lanes and another in the ditch, as well as about 5 or so cars in the ditch. My DD is a good driver so we got home safe.
Coming back, we drove a lot longer than what we had planned to, but, we wanted to get out of the snow coming. DIDN'T happen, we ended up with 3 inches of snow on the car in the morning. We got a later start than we planned to, but, that was good, as the plows had been out and the roads were good.
We got home Tuesday afternoon and I went to bed as I was so very tired. Think I have caught up a little on the sleep I didn't get during the trip.
While we were traveling, Oldpine was enjoying the nice warm temps, we had not so warm temps.
Thank you for prayers said for our safe trip.
