I lucked up and got a ton of tortilla's with coupons. They are nearing their expiration date of May 14. Are these freezable?

I've never frozen corn tortillas except all ready cooked into enchiladas, etc.

I do freeze flour ones though. I separate them individually with wax paper and put in a zip lock bag. When I want to make DH a burrito I take out one or two and nuke a few seconds. He likes them.

I freeze the corn tortillas all the time. When needed, pull them out, use a butter knife to separate the amount I want and put the rest back in the freezer.

When they begin to defrost, I rub a small amount of oil on them, to keep them from curling and cracking. Or put them in a ziplock to maintain their moisture while they defrost.

Adding my agreement with being able to freeze them. Back when I purchased them, I would usually leave them in the store package and put that into another ziplock. They are fairly easy to separate out while frozen. Good tip from Annarchy about oiling the corn ones to help with cracking!

They are very easy to make from scratch, so now I just make them as we want them. After tasting the first batch, DH declared that we wouldn't be buying them again.... :)

I freeze both but I do take the time to put wax paper or freezer paper between them. I live in a house full of guys that don't think when they rip into something and try separating it. They bang it on the counter instead of sliding a table knife between it.

Thay can't help it... It's in their DNA, I think! My hubby bangs things on the counter, too...

Exactly why I seaparte with wax paper too mommato3boys.

It's also why when DH wants a fried egg, bacon, etc. I ALWAYS offer to do it. It's easier to take the 5 mins. to fry the egg than spend an hour cleaning the grease off everything because he thinks everything needs to be cooked on high.

Yep, must be the DNA TMC.
