Y'all.....I need prayer. I'm fairly bummed this fine [20 degrees outside] morning. In order to minimize crowds at the restaurant, my folks, DH, and I postponed the Mother's day lunch till today.

I just called my mom to postpone.

OW! I've been awake with pain since 4am. :mornincoffee:

I've had trouble with my major joints [shoulders and hips] for years. Often waking me in the night...continuing on during half the day. A body's lymphatic system shuts down while sleeping/laying all those hours. Fluids don't move around as during the day and the build up can cause more pain/pressure. Triggers MS spasticity.

Frankly, sometimes I hate to even go to bed.

About a month ago, DH found a homeopathic remedy that is :band: fantastic! :amen: For the first time in years, I've been almost pain-free. Even after waking. I've been able to actually DO so many things! :darlenedance: I LIKE being productive!!!!!

I fell Thursday. Took a header on a sidewalk...going steeply down hill. Ankle gave way to the side and I caught myself on my palms first. I've got a PhD in falling correctly so I rolled to take the pressure off ankle and wrists/shoulders quickly. But I still hit very hard.

The first 30 seconds, I was afraid I'd actually broken the ankle. I fall due to ankle-turning a lot. Loose ankles. But then I knew it was ok. Was surprised I even got a bit of swelling - that's rare. It's always ok in a few minutes. I went ahead with plans for that day, only being careful not to twist the ankle.

But in the days that followed, the shock of the impact set off the MS. <_< MS does not tolerate shocks. [a sudden LOUD noise can shock my system into collapsing on the floor....like that stupid yipping dog one day - :0327: ]

So I've had zero energy and feel :twister3: any time I'm upright. So dizzy and weak. OK...just have to log in some 'down time'. Spent some of Friday, most of Sat, all of Sunday laying in bed [reading]. It was getting progressively worse. By then the ankle was fine but the palm-landing/shoulder impact was flattening me. I was TRYING to get past that point with enough rest to be able to keep our Monday-Mother's-Day lunch date.

:shakinghead: :(

Since 4am I've been battling the pain. Right arm is hanging useless and throbbing at my side. It's only now [8:30am] beginning to loosen just a bit. I can move the fingers now enough to type. Can't move the arm tho. Pain and numb. .... <_< This too shall pass.

So...while I can usually take this in stride, I'm bummed. I was all set for LUNCH and being out with my mom and .... :( But I think also, once I have had pain-free days, it's so awfully hard to go back into it again. ....it costs me a LOT of energy too. :faint3:

So I'd appreciate your prayers. I know God is hearing me :yar: . But I'd love your back-up too. :grouphug: Might be able to do lunch tomorrow.

MT. Rider, may God's healing hand be upon you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. In the name of Jesus, I plead His Blood upon you as your pain leaves. Thank you Father that nothing was broken, and we stand in the gap for her MS to calm down. As you 'rest' in Him , please be at peace as He restores you to health and His healing. In His Name.

As you say, you know He is there and hears you. And YES it does help for othere interceding for us. I am in agreement with you.
The Lord gave me this verse several years ago to pray over my mom and now I have to pray it over myself because of falls. I will pray it over you also.

Psalm 37:23-24 (NIV)

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,
in all of your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

OUCH!!!

The only thing other than resting more and adjusting dates for some get-togethers right now is if you have any turmeric in your kitchen or herb supply and eat some in some rice or something during meals or mix in water, a pinch maybe at first, sweeten and drink it periodically.
It helps so many things including inflammation, it might help. :faint3: maybe that will get back to  sooner than later?

It may help overall shock factor recovery..... and pain levels and your immune system that takes a hit when you get shocked like that btw.

Might be worth trying and as long as you can eat it ok, then it won't harm anything.

Will  you feel much better much sooner now.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
John 1:5

I'm sorry you are having a flare up! I'm sure it has to be twice as hard since you were having such a productive last couple of weeks organizing etc.

I'm sending gentle hugs :hug3: and mighty prayers  your way.

THANK you all!!!!!! This has been a rough few days....to be feeling so generally awful and thwarted from anything I'd like to do. NEED to do. Today has been bad. Sooo dizzy/weak when I'd get up. But if I just lay down, it gets worse. So I keep getting up briefly...then :0327: Scuttle back to bed/couch.

Finally, around 6pm, it began to receede. It happens like that in the evenings often with MS. Don't know why. But when I thot I might be able to make it, DH and I headed down for the horses. I worked slowly but saddled my own and we rode a bit. THAT was therapeutic, as always. Feeling much better now. Barely dizzy and a bit worn but....it's passing. Have my shoulder motion mostly back.

:amen: :cele: [.....but not quite ---> :darlenedance:  cuz watching that smilie makes me a bit dizzy. :) ]

It was calming to know y'all were praying on my behalf - both typing it here or praying on your own. Cuz sometimes the struggle is just easier knowing that. It's how God intended the Body to work.

 Funny you should ask.... Until today, things were healing nicely. And I had a FANTASTIC weekend. Was feeling good [OK, I supplemented a bit with adrenaline :busted: ] and did finally get to do Mother's Day out-to-eat with my folks.

But this morning, my horse got startled and reared up a bit JUST as I was leaning forward. My head and the back of her neck collided. Just about dislocated my jaw. :cheeky-smiley-067: But I shook it off ...afterall, I was still mounted. So DH and I had a good ride. BUT... when we were not NEARLY back yet, I began to get jostled all over by the horse's motion. Yep, that same motion that usually feels SO good! I couldn't stay stable and felt like a rag doll in a dog's mouth. I had to get off before I melted right out of the saddle. What the heck???

DH and I were both confused but he got off and began to lead both horses back to our place. I just sat down in the ditch and was thankful for the cooling breeze so I didn't have a heat-meltdown.

Then two different neighbors drove up and asked if I needed a ride home. One of them had seen me from his house and drove up to check on me. He's got big points in my book today!!! I was nervous about sitting in the sun til DH came back with our car. No shade nearby.

As I tried to explain to him, it suddenly occured to me. It was a delayed 'shock-meltdown'. MS stuff. Yeah, when I got the clop to the chops  it gave my nervous system a jolt but it took a while for it to deteriorate. THAT's what confused us. :o I was VERY VERY thankful to get back quickly and get some water and shade. [I forgot to bring water too...and I doubt that's happened twice in ten years! I *never* forget water! Too risky!]

By the time poor DH came up with the horses, I was feeling better and was able to help take off tack and such. Wasn't trying to walk far tho. After a shower and lunch, he gave me an adjustment. He kept chuckling. WHAT? "She really nailed you! You are all backwards from what you are normally," he said. Decked by a horse....sheeeesh. :sHa_sarcasticlol:

Gotta watch those Arabian horses....pretty active with their heads. Gotta keep my head outta the way!

So instead of fixin' something on the truck...as we'd planned, we're both gonna be taking it easy this afternoon. Ah well. As usual, it could have been a lot worse. :amen: And we had a great ride until my system pooed out.

So glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been! Nice that your neighbors were looking out for you too.

I'm right there with you on the heat and sun. Mine isn't due to MS though. It's more of a 'weighty' issue...I think.
