I am TOO OLD to deal with teenage angst over homework. :sad-smiley-012:

LilDD has the toughest English teacher in her school. Even my son who works there told us quite seriously at the beginning of the year that she'll be lucky if she ends up with a "C", despite getting pretty much straight As in all of her academics.

She's struggling with several papers due now. The guy took a lot of time doing the same literature at the beginning, and now at the end he's assigned a bunch of stuff when everyone *else* is, too.

I keep telling her that he's teaching her a lot about what she'll be dealing with in college. But it's small comfort right now. She's even questioning whether she wants to continue taking AP (Advanced Placement) courses next year.

*SIGH*

(((((((Cat)))))))

Hoping she gets through it OK. I had a tough english teacher my junior year. :pout:

Today, I am recovering from a slight sun burn, I missed a couple of spots with my sunscreen. Nothing a little aloe could not handle. We went fishing yesterday and caught our limit, 12 more trout. I am going to invite a couple of friends over for a fish fry. :feedme:

Not much on my priority list today, might even get some things done on my secondary ToDo list.

Looking forward to seeing how everyones day is going.

My son had a teacher that was ridiculously tough too Cat. He was NOT a good student and everyone said, "oh, she'll straighten him out". Wrong, he just disliked school more than ever.

He made it, I made it and you will too Mom. It's tough seeing your kids go through these difficult times but you'll both be ok.

When I'm upset DH says, "and what was your major problem last year". He's right, I usually have no idea, so just keep on truckin' and this will be in your past before you know it.

Hang in there! I think we've all had tough teachers. It's okay when it's a tough teacher who's a GOOD teacher. This doesn't sound like that, though.

At least there shouldn't be too much more of the school year left.

Oh Cat! Hang in there, it's almost over. I remember my AP classes, most of them were less work but more reading. Physics was my killer. The teacher should have been teaching college classes. We would ask a question, he would explain it the same way and someone else would ask the same thing in a slightly different way all in the hopes of an answer we understood. Never happened.

Another visit to the marriage counselor. DH and I do not perceive or remember things the same way at all.

He also says I have a "thermonuclear temper," and that he cannot keep an orderly house with a "pathological hoarder" like me.

This is going to be a long summer.

My day was slow. The landscapers came and went. The guy came out for his pay and I found a few more trees in the back that could come down. I felt a little bad about bargaining him down the last time so I'm paying what the asked this time. Plus I told him I'll give him all of my business...which is really quite a lot over the next couple of years.

By landscaping I mean tearing out old old shrubs and cutting down trees. I'll be doing all of the replanting and mulching etc. I do not have a gardener. :icon19:

My kids are fighting over the GOOD computer so they can finish up their school work. They only have 3 days left.
Not only has the vice principal taken our number off speed dial. Son has made honor roll.:o :cele: :darlenedance::wub: :cloud9: :woohoo: :cheer: :band2: :band: :balloons: :0327:

It has taken years of :sad-smiley-012: :baseballbat: Posted Image :banghead: :tapfoot: :motz_6: :gaah: for this to happen.

DD2 hopes she has brought the B+ up she got on her last report card so she can get back on high honor roll. That was due to a group project so I told her not to worry to much about it.

DD1 might just miss getting on honor roll. She is working now and has let some of the easy classes slip thinking they will be easier to catch up. She has come a long way too so I'm proud of her too.
