There has been some discussion lately about forgiveness and woundedness. I'd like to share a sermon that I just heard that has filled my heart with hope and healing.

The audio skips a little bit but nothing is lost. Also, there's a pause when he references the microphone being bad but then picks back up.Attached File  Mark Daniel - Effects of Darkness (woundedness).mp3   8.15MB   55 downloads

"One day, we’re going to stand before the gates of Heaven. Some of us want to be able to walk up there in a white robe and we want to sing Abba Father and Amazing Grace and we want to say to the Lord, “I worshiped You.” But I want you to think about this: Heres the way I want to enter the gates of Heaven. I want to come skidding in there on all fours. I want to be slipping and sliding and I want to hit the gates of heaven with a bang. And when I stand up and I stand before Christ, I want there to be blood on my knees and my elbows. I want to be covered with mud. And I want to be standing there with a ragged breast plate of righteousness. And a spear in my hand. And I want to say, “Look at me, Jesus. I’ve been in the battle. I’ve been fighting for you.” Ladies and gentlemen, put your armor on and get into battle. God bless you." ~ General William G. Boykin, U.S. Army (ret.)

Hi Darlene,

One of my friends just posted this to her Facebook page this morning. I remembered it when I saw your post and thought I'd copy it below. Thanks for sharing this!

"Hurting People HURT people"... knowing this can actually help ease the pain of disappointments, broken promises, unfulfilled expectations and even greater pain such as abuse, abandonment, and violence causing so much destruction... but the flip side to that is that "Healing people HEAL people," and that is what my FOCUS is on now. It also helps me at times to remember that most people do the best they can with what they know at the time. "You cannot know what you do not know....."
