Four weeks ago today I had my surgery for kidney stones with eleven days of a stent.  It was an awful ordeal.  Last week Henry had his surgery as a result of his accident with the table saw while doing a wood working project.  He's still healing and will be for a while.   I thought that was so odd that we would both have surgery close to the same time.

Then, the day after Henry's surgery I was contacted and told that Jesse needed some tests done. Before we knew what was really even happening we were doing contrast dye Cat Scans and blood work. Monday we were called in once again, this time for a needle biopsy.

Yesterday we received an official diagnosis and the news that surgery was going to be required to remove a benign tumor that was about the size of a ping pong ball in one of Jesse's salivary glands right under his jaw. Pleomorphic Adema.

I was shocked but hung on to the word 'benign'. Immediately, just as suddenly as this had happened, I saw God begin to move. Before the night was over I had an assurance that His hands were all in it.

After council with trusted and knowledgeable friends we have requested and been accepted by a surgeon who has Jesse's records and tests results in hand.  We will know Monday what the next step in this journey will be.

I've found so much comfort in the Word of God these last few days. Oh how I love the Scriptures. Whatever you need, whatever the crisis, it is a treasure, a gift.

Many of my loved ones and most trusted prayer partners are spread across this land and beyond. I am sounding the shofar! Calling for you to fight with us. Asking you to pray for my son as if he were yours.

Then I explained to the nobles and officials and all the people, “The work is very spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. When you hear the blast of the trumpet, rush to wherever it is sounding. Then our God will fight for us!” (Nehemiah 4:19, 20 NLT)

Praying for all of you, especially Jesse.

I will have my DH play his trumpet tomorrow just for Jesse. Does he have a favorite song? I am thinking, To God Be The Glory.

Lord God, we pray on behalf of this son...and his mom and dad. We know YOU are here...even 'here' on this board that only unifies us through modern technology. As way more than two or three will be gathering 'here', YOU will honor your promise to be there also. You hear the prayers, the thanksgiving, the petitions for this family. You delight to guide and teach us. You delight to save us. You shower Your love upon us. Thank You. By the name of Your Son Jesus, we ask for Your very best will for young Jesse.

Thank you all for your concern and prayers. mtRider, this prayer was such a blessing to me this morning. Thank you so much!

Jesse feels rotten. I think that is mostly the powerful antibiotics they have him on. The growth is pressing in on his throat and aggravating him. Will be so glad to be rid of this!!!

I will be adding my prayers to the others. God is good and I'm so glad that you've been able to find strength in His words. I don't know how old Jesse is, but I'm sure that he'll rebound quickly... Kids usually do. Especially country kids that are used to being outside and running around! In the midst of all this, I hope that you take some time out to take care of yourself. You are the glue that holds the family together!

Hoping all goes well for the removal of this benign lump and that he heals fast and well , that you all can breathe a sigh of relief in continued physical healing and function with these issues you are having right now.

I believe the surgery was moved to today, Thursday, according to a post Stephanie made on FB earlier this week. I hope all has gone well for Jesse today.

Thanks to each and every one of you for your prayers! God is faithful!

The surgery is still Tuesday, but, next Tuesday. We have consulted with the surgeon who is a specialist in salivary glands. We fill we have the best medical care available and KNOW we have the BEST GREAT PHYSICIAN!

My prayer for Jesse is no complications with surgery, complete recovery AND that this will be the end of the matter! Done! Completely done!
