I have a half apron (I could really use the bib type, my poor shirts), but I love it because it has a hand towel sewn right on it, and a couple nice size pockets. I wish I would just sit down sometime and look at it, and make another one.(cuz I can sew? lol. I like to pretend!) I'm pretty sure this one is old, and I'm making it fade. The pattern is some vintage looking stuff and the handtowel was bright red. But I use it all the time.

now how did Darlene spell this...

Wiccie? too cute!

the dish towel can be velcro'd on so it can be taken off and washed or another put in its place while it is being washed.

If you are going to make an apron.. make two! while one is dirty you can wear the other.

I like aprons (bib-style), they just make sense.

I intend to make a dish towel apron out of some nice IKEA dish towels...that just don't do their job on regular dishes. I think they're for crystal or something, which I don't have any of! Anyway, I think I'm just going to wing it...I want my apron to be more sturdy than Martha's appears to be be.

The apron I made (from the back of the Mandie Cookbook I had growing up) is lost in my pack-rat mother's house. I've been waiting for 3 years for her to find it.

I am a Martha watcher. Not a Martha doer.

I submitted the post to give you the idea for the
bib style using dish towels. You know the top one
could be nice and the bottom one could be any kind
of towel. Maybe use buttons to hook them together.
That way you could mix and match and if the top is
still clean button on a clean bottom.

That's actually how my first one is...buttoning on top and bottom. I liked that too! (I haven't completely worked out in my head how this next one will work)

PS, I forgot to ask...does anyone have a sleeved type apron that ties up at the back? They type certainly keep you clean. Well worth looking at.

I'm a big fan of that type of apron, they're good for when you're painting or something.

BTW what are 'totes' filled with patterns?

I'll post some pics (as I said) when the group's ready for me.
