Great Idea!

Now seeing we are zone 6 I can't do what you are doing but we 'try' and eat things from the garden every day as well. During the gardening season that easy and we can a tone so we can use that during the winter and use something just about every day. Some things in the freeze help fill out meats too. Now I am one that likes to keep things growing as soon as possible and as long as possible - even leaving things in the ground that don't seem to do well in our root cellar/ storage area? Just this past week I went out and got a cabbage to make stir fry with and the other part made Cole-slaw. Put a carrot - shaved some -added to Cole-slaw and some for tossed salad rest went into homemade soup. Pulled 2 beets to cook for Supper and I still have some herbs growing under the snow that I use now and then.

Even found a few onions I missed now that the snow has melded - But I have most things covered with hay so things are doing fine but a cover of snow would be better.

So in a way I too am eating from the garden everyday - thanks for showing me that.

Yesterday I was bad and ate way too much dairy (cheese is sooooo good).  Last night I was miserable - talk about intestinal armaggedon!  I won't be doing that again anytime soon!

I'm glad to be back, Dogmom!  I need to get some chickens - 2 eggs a day would be perfect for our family.  How many girls do you have?  And, do you think my cats would leave them alone?  Hmmmm . . .

2/5/13 - juiced oranges, carrots & beet greens. Also had sprouts on a sandwich

I wish I had planted more carrots last Fall.  I really can't stand carrots very much but I LOVE the juice.  Who knew?

I have 4 Andrea. I can have 6 but I had to give two away when they decided to be boys. I could probably get away with 7 or 8...nobody would care. I'll probably either hatch some out in my classroom again or get some day olds. I'd really love to order some non-standard breeds but the minimum order is too high. Cats, not an issue once they're big enough to be out on their own. My cat likes to lay out in their yard. They just stare her down and she runs if they come too close. Get some...you'll be hooked.
