It's been a rollercoaster for me. We had JUST decided to have more children, then this very topic came up. Hubby mentioned that perhaps we need to rethink our positopn on that. I didn't want to hear him. I know my heart wants LOTS more children. I know as my youngest gets older my arms will just ACHE for a baby. But my mind has to agree. It is NOT safe now and it's going to get worse! The more children we have the harder it's going to be to protect all of them in a difficult situation. Even if we manage to get out to our homestead before SHTF, we will need to be able to work HARD to keep things going, and I am completly incapasitate when pregnant with various medical problems. I want to cry at te thought of Anna being my last baby, but I know I'll cry a whole lot harder if I lose one of them because I couldn't protect them all or move fast enough. Makes me think of Luke 21:23 "But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people." I tell you, I call myself MamaBear for a reason (I think I feel a name change comming on!) Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. Get in my face, your askin for trouble but I'd still most likely leave you alone. Mess with my cubs and I'll rip you to pieces!!! This made me SO mad on another list I used to be on. We were talking bout "non-resistence". It was asked what someone would do if someone broke into the house and was going to harm your child. People were actually saying things like "I'd try to gently hold them back but I wouldn't hurt them." I couldn't believe it! I can just see them at the gates "God, why didn't you protect my child?!" and God saying "I did. I gave them YOU. Why didn't YOU protect them?" Ever hear of that joke about a man sitting on his roof as a flood rose? He turned down all attempts of resuce because "God was going to save him" When he drowned he asked God why He didn't save him and God says "I tried! I sent you a car a boat and a helicopter!" Same thing. I concidder myself non resistant. If an enemy needs food, if they need help, they'll get it if I can give it. But if they come for my kids, they are going to wish they didn't (and apparently I'm a psychopath so they REALLY don't want to make me mad! But hey, what do psycologists know )

Yes, I know someone like this and I have run into him from time to time and it's a possibility I will run into him today. This old geezer isn't on anybody's list (official list) because no one has turned him in. Someone tried and it was too late after the fact (statute of limitations). He was removed from a church and the people were told but, as often with creeps like this, people thought it must have been a mistake and "poor, old John".
Grubby, I can't remember how old your child is but I think she needs to know to keep away from this person and that this doesn't have to change her friendship with the daughter.

And then there are idiot young people...
One of our guys was 19 and working at the High School (Non-teaching capacity), got stupid and dated a 15 year old and got busted. Now dumbo is marked forever for not waiting 3 years. Plus he of course lost the job and any chance of eventually really working for the school system. All because he didn't think *there was anything really wrong with it*.

They ran a newscast of *sexual predators in the neighborhood* but got him to interview by saying it was about *youthful mistakes*. Guess who was seen on screen babbling with it edited to make it seem like *MONSTER IN THE AREA*?

You can't get through to some dummies.

I told a story about my daughter and the predators trying to pick up walking to the bus stop.. I drive her now.. anyway... I made her sit at the computer and look at the photos of the ones in our area... most of them want little boys not girls.. the creeps trying to pick her up aren't on the list.

When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her information such as home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed and been convicted for
commiting.

"One day, we’re going to stand before the gates of Heaven. Some of us want to be able to walk up there in a white robe and we want to sing Abba Father and Amazing Grace and we want to say to the Lord, “I worshiped You.” But I want you to think about this: Heres the way I want to enter the gates of Heaven. I want to come skidding in there on all fours. I want to be slipping and sliding and I want to hit the gates of heaven with a bang. And when I stand up and I stand before Christ, I want there to be blood on my knees and my elbows. I want to be covered with mud. And I want to be standing there with a ragged breast plate of righteousness. And a spear in my hand. And I want to say, “Look at me, Jesus. I’ve been in the battle. I’ve been fighting for you.” Ladies and gentlemen, put your armor on and get into battle. God bless you." ~ General William G. Boykin, U.S. Army (ret.)

I keep a check because of my grandchildren. I also have the website marked and saved in my favorites on both of my computers.
Luckily for me, my perp is dead! I know I won't find him there, but I do keep a check out for my ex-husband.

Debbie, it is a GOOD idea to call your local law enforcement, and ask to speak to the office in charge of the RSO's. Then tell him you live surrounded by X,Y,&Z offenders, and you have children. Ask for their opinion on potential recidivism, ask if they are complying with the rules of their conviction/parole or whatever it is called in your area. Make sure the cops know YOU are concerned for the welfare of your kids, and let them know you will report any suspicious behavior, but be sure to make it clear you have not observed any to date (unless you have of course!).

I have one 345yds from my front door. His offense was against a 6yr old girl...I have girls around that age...I called the cops and talked to the officer in charge. She was very helpful, and I am less worried, but NO less watchful!

Just keep telling your friends about the links, show them when they come over, print out photos of them, get the neighborhood involved!

why isn't this offense a death penalty or at least life in prision without the possibility of parole? (letting them in the general population)

It is a crying shame against our generation that sex crimes against children and women, only get a slap on the wrist, unless death occurs, it is an abomination that these degenerates are allowed to roam the streets. Death penalty should be the only penalty for this type of crime, that is the only cure for these pediphiles and rapists, they will never stop until they die.

And let the beauty of the Lord be upon us, and establish thou the work of our hands upon us.

I don't have any respect for child molesters, of course. We have already checked around our area for those that might harm a child.

Wes, there were two things missing from your post
1. Most molesters aren't limited by geography. They will leave their neighborhood to find a child

2. You forgot to mention that posting a sign in someone's yard who has paid the price the "law required" could be harassment! I disagree with this step. But I think it is fine that they know that I know and I have my eye on them.

I had one abused by a friend of our family. We will not return down that road of experience. Thankfully, our daughter is fine and doing very well. She is 21 now.

Abusers don't change but the law hasn't figured it out yet.

Please bear in mind also, that the ones listed are the ones caught, or the ones who have been since that law was passed. I know a notrious offender where we used to live. He was caught once and is not in jail. He does not have to register, because his offenses he was busted for, occured before the law was passed. In addition, there are ones who have never been caught. I like these sites very much that tell people where the offenders live. I just always want to emphiasize that just because your next door neighbors name is not on there, does not mean they are innocent, just not yet caught.
God loves you

Thanks for posting these links.

We have one living in the next town over (pop. 75) and half a dozen in the county seat 20 miles away (pop. 8000). These creeps are everywhere and NO, THEY CANNOT BE "CURED". Whatever one's sexual orientation is, IS.....and nothing is going to change that.
