  1. Its shopping day here so we are either going Chinese or Pizza... Its really too muggy to cook even though I have meals made up in the freezer I could microwave when we got home but Cap told me its once a month lets eat out time...
  2. I love Brussel Sprouts Nana... Cappy will eat them but maybe he will like them even better with your recipe... It sounds really good.. and cappy and I are big fans of Cukes, grape tomatoes and Cappy is the Garlic King of the world... and of course we always eat fat free calorie free or very little calorie dressing although cappy doesn't have to watch his weight....
  3. I wash my hands of Bush! The man is a powerdriven war monger. Now he's talking about putting North Korea in their place... what a stupid stupid man. The N. Korea Army is massive and can wipe our military out with minimal fight! Your right Mare... we shouldn't have to police the whole world. Its our military people who are getting hurt and killed trying to protect the peoples of these radical countries. We have no business over there... Bush should stop playing war with his buddies and fix the [censored] economy in this country and help those here who have lost jobs by keeping companies in this country. Under Bush the unemployment has risen astronomically and continues to grow. When his daddy was in office I think unemployment was at an alltime high of seven percent and now Bush has it up to over the 6% level in this country from Clintons 4% that Clinton got it back down to after he took the office over after Big Daddy Bush lost the election to him. I don't like what Clinton did as far as the affair or affairs he has had but by God the guy brought down the National Debt to the positive and we actually had surplus built up then when Little Hoss got into office we now have deficits in the billions and billions of dollars while he and his buddies line their pockets.. see VP Chaney's oil company theft from Iraqs oil producers. and Bush said it wasn't about the oil! YEA RIGHT! Why do you think he has been visitng Africa and wants to get into Liberia... OIL! Check out the statistics for these oil producing countries. I want to remind everyone to that ITS BUSH who wants to cut the retirement funding for THOSE MEN AND WOMEN whom HE sent over to " protect" the US and other countries from dictators who were suppose to have weapons of mass distruction which we have yet to be shown. 9-11 just gave Little Hoss the ammuniton to settle the score with Saddam because Saddam plotted to have Big Daddy Bush murdered while Clinton was in office ( The Clinton Whitehouse got this information and acted on it immediately and notified Bid Daddy Directly) Unfortunately Big Daddys memory forgot about that! and so did the republican guard in the US. I am tired of hearing everything is Clintons fault when Clinton hasn't been in office for a few years!
  4. I have made these and they are really great 5/8 cup margarine 1/2 cup organic cane sweetener 1 egg (beaten) 1 tbsp dried lavender flowers 1 1/2 cup whole-wheat pastry flour 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream the margarine and sugar together. Next, stir in the egg. Mix in the lavender flowers and the flour. 2. Grease two cookie sheets and drop spoonfuls of the mixture on them. Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes until the cookies are golden.

  6. A nice goulash with elbow macaroni with beef, noodles and tomato sauce along with some Italian Bread, and a nice cucumber and tomato salad. Watermelon for dessert
  7. If you apply petroleum jelly over door handles and hinges, or anything you don't want paint to stick to, the paint will not adhere to the items you use the jelly on. If you do not want to use petroleum jelly on the doorknobs, wrap a piece of foil over them to protect them from paint spattering. When painting a ceiling, tie a garbage bag over any suspended light fixtures to protect and catch any drips of paint that may fall.
  8. My mother taught me this one...Always have some red washcloths on hand for times when your children have cuts, scrapes, or worse. It makes it much less dramatic when the little one's get hurt because they can't "see" the blood.

  17. Thanks everyone for all your prayers..." The Golden Girls" are home from the hospital, recouperating. It seems like a senior plowed into the back of my moms car on the way to get her hair done. My mom, aunt and cousin were out " I say cruising for boytoys..hahahaha I told them," on the way home from eating out when they were rear ended by this elderly woman. She wanted to leave the scene of the accident because she had a hair appointment. Those cell phones come in handy. My mom had hers and she called the highway patrol on it. She and the other chicks were banged up and spent the weekend in the hospital just in case.. I brought her home early this am and she is recouping and the auntie and cousin are doing the same at their home... What a week! Thanks for the prayers for me concerning my friend Bobbie who passed away at age 50 of non hodgkins lymphoma. 3 friends lost this year to different types of cancers. Thats why its so important to get those checkups ladies and gents. My three friends should have lived to old age. They were wonderful people and I wish you could have known them.
