  1. I have a shih tzu named Samuel Langhorn Clemmons after Mark Twain the writer ( Sammy looks like Twain). He is my baby. I got him the year after my daughter passed away and he has been my shadow ever since. Cappy will tell you How Sam sleeps on his side of the bed and pushes him on the floor. Sam doesn't like Cappy in the bed with me...

  4. Recipe for Fast n Easy Compost Green Plant Matter-grass clippings, vegetable vines, pulled weeds, hedge clippings, vegetable peelings. Dry Plant Matter-autumn leaves, straw, cornstalks, small twigs. Combine the ingredients (in any combination, but a mix of both green and dry is best) in the compost bin (pile). To speed decay; chop or shred the materials and mix in. Moisten, but do not saturate, the pile. It should feel about as wet as a damp sponge. Turn the ingredients about once a week or more. This will help aerate the compost so that microbes get the oxygen they need to break down the materials quickly. The more you turn, the faster you get compost! Allow compost to cook.Check the piles moisture, especially during hot weather, and add more water if necessary. In four weeks or more, depending on how often you turn, check for finished compost-it will be dark, moist and crumbly, with a sweet, earthy odor. Serve a big helping to your garden!

FUDGE BARS ======================= 1 cup sweetened condensed milk 3 ounces chocolate chips 3 ounces butterscotch chips 2 tablespoons butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1-1/4 cups flour 1-1/2 cups oatmeal 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla In a medium sized bowl melt the first 4 ingredients together. Bake at 350-degrees for 25 minutes or until nicely browned.

  8. These are great tips Lois! Thanks for posting them.
  9. To make sure your refrigerator is operating at maximum efficiency, close your refrigerator door on a dollar bill. If you can pull the bill out easily from the door seal, you should have the seal replaced to prevent cool air from leaking out. This will save you money on your energy bills.
  10. Toss them into the dryer for several minutes with a tennis ball and dryer sheet using the air cycle only. Let them air out in the sun for a short time.
  11. Put foods like dry cereal, small crackers, raisins, etc., into ice cream cones. There will be less mess and no dishes to wash or clean up because the container is edible. 12. I always use coupons and get alot of products and groceries for free or for pennies, and sometimes the stores have to reimburse me money from their own pockets. It takes alot of practice but you can stcok your cupboards with items and foodstuffs you got for free or as I said pennies. Our local price chopper is having a sale on Ragu Spaghetti Sauce for 99 cents a jar and its double coupon and I have 20 coupons worth 1.00 a piece so price chopper will end up paying me money back after they double my coupon and give me their store discount. I also have coupons for peanut butter for 1.00 and I will come away with 10 2 lb jars of their PB for free. Don't forget to use your coupons at Dollar General for free items. Capp made a score on some fresh turkeys. We had manufacturers coupons for two free turkeys that the company sent me and at Price Chopper those brand of turkeys went on sale today as buy one get one free... we got 4 free 14 lb hens for free. Using coupons and asking manufacturers for coupons is worth the trouble of writing or emailing them.. Now here are some testimonies from others who use coupons and are coupon and refunding queens like me: Enjoy - Reci Shop trial size for free! This is my story and I'm posting it everywhere because I want you all to know about it. Here's the scoop... I'm sure you've all seen the trial size products at the stores you shop but did you know you can use coupons to buy those? A lot of coupons for products like shampoo and toothpaste say something like SAVE $1.00 any Herbal Essence. That means ANY SIZE! Most trial size products are about a buck and you can get them for free with a $1.00 ANY type coupon. I tried this today with a tube of toothpaste at Walgreens. Unfortunately I'm allergic to all but Tom's Of Maine, but my huney will use them. Anyhow the clerk said, "You can't use this on a trial size". I said, it doesn't say that it says ANY. So she gave it to me stating "Oh well, it's not MY money". LOL! Later in the day I went to Albertsons and tried it with a trial size of Tresemme. The cashier did not say a word about it:thumb: So for all of you lucky non-allergy prone and versatile people, please don't pay for toothpaste or shampoo again! Leave that to the big spenders... You are right on this! I used to be the "Coupon Queen" of SW Michigan and we did things like this all the time. You can even cash in a free coupon on an item that is buy one/getone free. Never forget the time we were passing thru Chicago and ran into my Cigg. brand with a buy one/get one offer and I had just cut out about100 coupons from the Sunday inserts for a free pack. (Girlfriend delivered two huge paper routes and we got all the returned inserts!) Ended up with 200 free packs of Ciggs off that deal! There are lots of ways to save if you have the time and space......aT one time of my life I was earning about $1,000 to $1,200 per month in cash, plus feeding the family for free (along with the HBA and paper products free!) and all on refunds and rebates and coupons! It's really a full time job to get to that point and takes about a year to get there, plus a spare garage or storage unit to store the stuff in. But. it was a challange and a lot of fun. There are conventions to trade your "Garbage" all over the country, and we hit a ton of them. It's fun, but again, it's a full time job that never ends and if you let it get away from you you end up with a real mess!! Yup, the old trial size deals! They are great. I am the coupong queen of NJ, and always use two coupons on the BOGO, and have coupled buy two for cents off with the individual and store coupons. They local A&P, Pathmark, Shoprite, and CVS cringe when I walk in! lol, I do this. We live in the land of NO DOUBLES. Some stores will give you the "overage" of the coupon. Our Wal-Mart does this. If you have $1 off coupon, and the product is only .78, you make .22 cents off the coupon towards the rest of your bill! Most of it will go to the food pantry. In the last week, we have gotten: Travel/Trial Size 60+ Thermasilk shampoo/conditioner/hairspray .78 used $1 coupon 40 Johnson's & Johnson's shampoo/lotion/powder .25 used .55 coupon 9 Edge shaving gel .92 used $1 coupon 2 Skintimate shaving gel .92 used $1 coupon 30 Crest toothpaste .50 used .75 coupon Full Size 70 Pace enchilada sauce $1 used $1 coupon 15 Taco Bell hard shells $1 used $1 coupon (plus there are coupons out that expire 6-29 where you get $1 off ground beef w/purchase of Taco Bell shells or dinner kits!) 100+ boxes of 9 lives catfood $1 used $1 coupon (Dollar General) 30+ Butler toothbrushes $1 used $1 coupon (Dollar General)(some Wal-Marts have these for .78) We use the coupons for BOGO's here too! Sometimes, the store will be having a BOGO sale on an item and...I'll have a BOGO coupon for that product too!! Got three little ones to feed here myself, gotta save where you can. (Besides, the trial sizes are perfect for little hands to hold!!) When products go on sale B1G1F you can use a free product coupon or a B1G1F coupon to get both free product! Just beware of the coupon police. One checker recently told me that the $1.00 Right Guard coupons were not for trial size. Oh really now?! It didn't exclude trial size anyplace on the coupon. Also on the B1G1F offers, I have trouble using two coupons on these so I usually don't. I guess because if it rings up at let's say $3.99 and then zero for the second one, the second coupon beeps. Hey...those are some great tips!! I've tried several of these but I NEVER thought about using the big coupon on a sample product. I'm going to try that....a big savings!! THANKS for the tips ya'll! Hey also try to get store coupons in with the manufactuers coupons. I raked in serious loot over at Eckerd's doing this. They took their coupon for Huggies and Colgate toothpaste, ect, with their store coupon saving me over three dollars vs the store that was previously cheapest on my brand. I was loading up the trunk thinking it may get full for $40!!! But one thing to think of is that sometimes you get enough savings using coupons on a value or cheaper product to justify buying the full size. I could have gotten a free trial size of deodorant at wal-mart with my dollar off coupon, but no, I chose a full size with the net cost being only 69 cents! This is my favorite hobby! I love coupons. My hubby says I'm addicted...lol! I'm begining to think I am too! I'm fixing to get a storage building, so I'll have a place to put all my stuff. Right now all of my house is full. I don't have anymore hiding places. He made the mistake of looking under my bed the other day. It's a great way to save money! I'm a stay at home mom with 2 kids and a hubby..lol...so every penny counts! I get a lot of the coupon police as checkers. I can't stand them. I once got the you can only use one coupon for your whole purchase because it says one coupon per purchase. It made me so mad I emailed Wal-Mart through and I received a response from my the assistant manager saying that I could use as many coupons as I wanted as long as I bought the same amount of products. I carry that letter in my coupon book and have only had to use it once. I also have learned that if you ask for the manager, not the csm, you can normally solve the problem. There are actually trading sites that you can go to, to trade for coupons and refunding forms, upcs, etc... Just type in coupon trading in your search engine and you'll come up with a bunch. Or you can email me (just click on frogs in my sig) and I'll tell you where I go. You can also try ebay. Just punch in band aid, bandaid or band-aid coupons in the search and they'll come up or punch it whatever coupon you are looking for and "coupon" and there you have it. I never get the 1.00/1 coupons here, I always get the .55 off any band-aid product, but those little spongebob bandaid are still free. So far I've gotten 58 packages of them and they each have 8 band-aids. If you find the 1.00/1 you can use them on the stars and stripes band-aids that are 1.00 or the travel packages in the travel section for .78 and make a profit. DiscountDiva: That's what I was gonna say..lol! I love Eckerds and Walgreens. I've only been told a couple of times that I can't use them together but a call to the manager proves them wrong..lol! We just had double coupons at Eckerds the week before last and that was a blast. I hope they do it again! I ended up with close to 300.00 worth of stuff for less than 30.00 with my rebates. Yep, sometimes the bigger size is better! I just cashed in the freebie coupons for the Purena One that we called in for (and half the world I know also called in for me!) Could have gotten the 4 lb. size of cat food for free, but elected to pay $1.30 to get the 8 lb. size. Got a 20 lb. bag of dog food for $1.40 instead of an 8 lb. for free. With 3 cats and two dogs, I need the food!!! It is work! I don't come even close to what I used to do 25 years ago! It was a full time plus job when I was running it properly. Ended up renting a garage size storage unit and filled it with shelves to store the proofs of purchase and it was packed! (and everything was broken down!) Had all my friends that weren't into it saving me their boxes and lables and reciepts and spent most of my evenings addressing envelopes! Went thru about 400 stamps, or more each month, and went to a convention every month. Yes, it did pay well! I made $1000-$1,500 per month in cash plus fed the family for nothing. (and that includes the paper and cleaning products too!) It was a blast as I started a Coupon/Refund club (9 of them in fact) where we traded our proofs and complete deals, etc. and many of us became great friends and went on trips, etc. together! At the time, our recycling company didn't have washing ability, so we made an agreement with them to remove all the times with lables and return the clean glass to them. Fixed my girlfriends garage up with barrels to soak, disinfect, and dry the things and we did a weekly (5 AM) run and filled my van with the exchanges from the 33 recycle centers in our area. Would not have enjoyed it nearly as much alone, but always had plenty of gals to do it with so it was a blast! My time is used with many other things at this point and I could never devote what it needed to do this amount today. I'm real satisfied with the freebies on the net and the occasional deals I get with the coupons at this point! I get a lot of the coupon police as checkers. I can't stand them. I once got the you can only use one coupon for your whole purchase because it says one coupon per purchase. It made me so mad I emailed Wal-Mart through Planetfeedback.com and I received a response from my the assistant manager saying that I could use as many coupons as I wanted as long as I bought the same amount of products. I carry that letter in my coupon book and have only had to use it once. I also have learned that if you ask for the manager, not the csm, you can normally solve the problem. "FROGS" seriously...i too am a coupon queen and love to shop with nothing but coupons but it is really upsetting to here that you basically b*tch at management at walmart to get your way. I respect the rules of coupons and if it says one per perchase that is what it means. I work at a walmart and at the service desk and let me tell you, we have had people kicked out of our store for pulling the same crap everytime they shop. we appriciate the business but customers have to realize that coupon companies can reject the coupons as they see fit and then that means that our wages go down and we are the ones paying the price as the workers. please respect us and the rules. we are only tryin to follow the rules and regulations so we can survive on a small salary. I had a serious problem with the "coupon police" at Wal-Mart last year when I had the free Skittles coupons. yikes, I think that you like many of the cashiers at Wal-Mart simply do not understand what the "rules" on coupons actually mean. As for the Skittles coupon, the coupon read: Limit one coupon per purchase on product(s) indicated. That means one coupon per product purchase, meaning that you can use one coupon for each product. Not one coupon per your entire purchase. I used to work in a grocery store, in the office, and I had to go through the coupons and send them in for redemption. We never had any problems with redeeming free product coupons whatsoever. Of course, we never had anyone bring in B1G1 free coupons when we had a B1G1 sale, so I'm not sure about the legalities of that. I did try this once and was treated VERY rudely by the CSM: I had a coupon for $1.00 off of two packages of Hot Pockets and a coupon for Buy 3 packages of Hot Pockets Get 1 free, so I tried to use them together thinking that I was paying for 3 packs so I could get the $1 off of two of them and still get the 4th box free. The cashier scanned the coupons and one wouldn't scan so she called the CSM who basically berated me in PUBLIC for trying to use more than one coupon on this transaction. I was so embarassed, she made me feel like I was a thief or something! When I had worked handling coupons, if a cashier had asked me about a situation like that, I would have seen no problem with it. I would write the corporate offices of Walmart or other stores by snail and make photocopies of their response. That way next time you can bring in a copy of their policy with you when you want to get bargains. These stores should not treat people like criminals for legitamate bargain shopping. Unless a coupon specifically states what size or type of product it's valid for, you should be able to use them on trial size products. This is especially good when you want to try a product but don't want to be stuck with a full size item that you may not like. My hubby calls me the Coupon Queen because one time I had over $100 in groceries & it cost me $25. I'm always hunting for bargains...even if we're going to Family Dollar, I check my coupon box before walking out the door. OMG! My hubby laughs at me for being a coupon queen, but I am nowhere near as good as some of you. I never would've thought of some of these things. I am bowing (LOL) to the TRUE COUPON QUEENS and thanking you for the ideas. Gotta go through the coupons & head to Walmart in a few hours to try this out! Thanks again!

  17. We are in Africa because its all about OIL! Even the President of the USA said that Oil is" spilling " out of African Countries every day so like the good guys the warmongers are they will go in and take control of all the exports and the pockets of the war mongers will get even fatter while the poor get poorer. Bush and his buddies won't have to worry about their next meal or prescription drug cost in their old age because they will be sitting pretty laughing at all of the " less fortunate" as the world goes by.
