Otherwise thumbs down on the price because its not affordable for alot of women. At 31 dollars a pop I always calculate how much milk and bread and other items I can use that money for.
  2. Use empty egg cartons, meat trays, paper plates, or paper cups for your kid's paints. Egg cartons are wonderful because you can keep the colors completely seperate.
  3. Don't throw away old kitchen sponges. Instead, throw them in with a load of laundry to get them clean, then use them for painting crafts. Cut into different shapes for kids to use as sponge stamps, or simply use for fun texture effects.

  18. Encourage the birds to come into your garden particularly with a bird bath. Birds eat a lot of garden pests and they are lovely to watch. Use washed crushed eggshells around your plants to deter slugs and snails. The sharp eggshell stops them from crawling onto the plants, so don't crush the shells too much, and make a complete cicle around the plant.
  19. Using a strong footbath of black tea 3 to 4 times a week, for 2 weeks before a big hike may toughen the pads of the dog's feet and prevent sores.
  20. Take 15 minutes of unprotected sun exposure several times a week. If you live where it's hot, then do it early morning. The right amount of sun exposure energizes your body, and the vitamins in sunlight promote healthy skin and bones.

  22. Make your own popsicles and slushies instead of buying them. You can save all your leftover juices or fruit drinks and the savings comes when you use your own popsicle freezer containers which you can find at the dollar store to make them. Love those snow cones that you find at State Fairs! Crush up some ice in your blender and then make up Koolaid or a similar powdered drink mix at half strength, and pour over the ice. You can use frozen juice at half strength, too.
  23. Another Leftover Meatloaf recipe: Meatloaf Parmesan Slice left over meatloaf and place it in a baking dish. Top it with tomato sauce and a slice of mozzarella cheese and bake until its hot and bubbly.
  24. Heres a cool summer dessert for you: Lime and Banana Cake Canola oil cooking spray 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup granulated (table) sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt Zest of 2 limes, divided in half 1 large ripe banana 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt 1 large egg, separated 1 large egg white 1 cup confectioners’ sugar Zest and juice of 1 medium lime 2 cups fresh berries for garnish Set rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat an 8-cup plain tube pan with cooking spray. Flour pan and set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and 1/2 of the zest. In a separate bowl, mash banana well. Whisk in yogurt and egg yolk. Mix into dry ingredients to make a dense batter. In another bowl, whisk egg whites to soft peaks. Fold into batter just until combined, leaving some white streaks. Transfer batter to pan. Rap pan on counter to eliminate air bubbles and level batter. Bake 35 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 20 minutes. Unmold and set on wire rack to cool completely. Mix together confectioners’ sugar, remaining zest and juice. Spoon over cake, letting it drip down sides. When set, about 30 minutes, cover cake with plastic wrap. Let cake sit 6 to 24 hours before serving. Use serrated knife to slice and serve garnished with berries. (Cake is low-fat and gets dryer on second and third day. More glaze as a topping, will give a moister taste.) Makes 12 servings.
  25. Sprinkle nuts and cheese on top of food rather than mixing them throughout the dish. You can save your pennies this way!
