  1. BRAND NAME CEREALS VS PLAIN LABLE CEREALS- THUMBS UP FOR MOST PLAIN LABLE CEREALS! Have you checked the cost of brand name cereals lately. Highway robbery. Why buy them if you can get the same thing for a lot less. If you have fussy kids who like their fruit loops buy plain lable froot loops and just continue to add them to the froot loop box. The kids will never know the difference. Some of the plain lable cereals are better than the brand names. Try them, you might like them.

  9. recipe of the day, Taco Pizza w/ Cornmeal Crust Crust: 1 cup flour 3/4 cup cornmeal 1 tsp salt (I use a little more) 1/2 Tbsp sugar 1/2 cup warm water 1 pkt yeast 1 Tbsp oil Dissolve yeast in water. Mix dry ingredients, add water and oil and mix well. Let rest for about half an hour. Pat or roll out on floured surface. Dough will be very dense and may tear, just pat edges back together. Transfer to greased pizza pan and finish patting out to size of pan. Prick in a few places with fork. Bake at 450 for about 15 minutes, until crust is "set" and starts to brown just slightly. Top with: 1 small jar/can enchilada sauce Browned and seasoned ground beef (I also add a little taco sauce to the meat) Onions, peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc Shredded mexican cheese (I use a cheddar jack blend) Bake again at 450 until crust is good and brown and cheese is melted and bubbly. __________________

  11. It might seem strange to pray at your computer, in front of a screen, especially if there are other people around you, or distracting noises. But God is everywhere, all around us, constantly reaching out to us, even in the most unlikely situations. When we know this, and with a bit of practice, we can pray anywhere! Everything has the potential to draw forth from me a fuller love and life. Yet my desires are often fixed, caught, on illusions of fulfillment. I ask that God, through my freedom, may orchestrate my desires in a vibrant loving melody rich in harmony.
  12. Crest Spin Tooth Brushes! THUMBS DOWN! These are a waste of money. Go to the dollar store and get a pack of 1.00 toothbrushes and use those. They work just as well as these battery powered gismos. I wouldn't buy one but if I got one for free I would use it.
  13. Peter Pan Peanut Butter. A BIG THUMBS UP FOR THE PAN! I have tried all kinds of peanut butter and this is the best tasting and its great to bake with too. It doesn't taste stale like the other peanut butters on the market do.

  18. Are you too short to reach the branches of the trees you want to put your new spring birdfeeders on. Heres a solution for you. Get wire hangers and straighten them put and bend a loop and one end of the hanger and hook the feeder to it then take your second end and make a hook to drap over the tree branches. You can bend the hook just right so that if a big wind comes up the feeder won't blow off the tree. Don't forget to put a birdbath out for our feathered friends near the feeders. Birds need fresh water too to drink and swim in... grin.
  19. Mystery Burgers 2 egg whites 1 cup low-fat or fat-free cottage cheese 1 cup rolled oats 1 pkg. onion soup mix Mix ingredients together and make into small "burgers" or "meatballs." Fry in a small amount of oil, about 3 minutes on each side. I think these taste even better a day after you first make them. Less than $1.00 per batch.
  20. South of the Border Casserole You can use either chicken or turkey in this quick, tasty Tex-Mex inspired casserole. It's a great way to turn leftovers into an out of the ordinary casserole. 2 cups cooked rice 4 oz can diced green chiles 16 oz jar medium picante sauce 2 - 3 cups cooked chicken or turkey, pulled into bite-sized pieces (use your fingers) 8 oz canned mushrooms (stems and pieces) 6 Tbsp sour cream Place chicken or turkey in the bottom of a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Mix together picante sauce, chiles, and mushrooms. Spread all but 3/4 cup of mixture over chicken. Add sour cream and rice to remaining picante sauce mixture. Spread over mixture in casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

  23. I collect coffee mugs, t-shirts-posttcards and rocks and seashells from everyplace we visited along with a collection of mini lighthouses and anything lighthouse and sea related. I have tons of angel figurines and anything angel that I have collected for years. I also collect fossils ( no not Cappy ) and anything having to do with palentology and also herpetology. I love Skinks I just started a new hobby a while ago of collecting porcelin dolls- all sizes. When I was a child because there were so many in my family we always got one doll for Christmas and every year my middle sister always broke the doll so in my old age I am reverting back to childhood and collecting dollies of any kind really. I also continued collecting Teddy Bears which my DD had been collecting right up until the time of her passing. The Teddy Bears and Angels need their own rooms. I have two huge doll houses that Cappy gave me but has yet to put them together. I also collect cheapy americana items but have a few old antiques too. There is more but this list is just a few of the things that have been collected from over the years. All Treasures... Hey Dee I would love that Charles and Diana Plate. ....I collect alot of Royal stuff and I forgot to mention alot of old history items. I have the actual local newspapers from when Queen Elizabeth was crowned Queen and have other papers that go back farther. I have to preserve and frame them.
