  1. Making prepayments on a home loan (sometimes called a "mortgage") can be a powerful way, under the right circumstances, to save. But there are drawbacks. PROS: * Gives you free-and-clear ownership of your home sooner. * Saves thousands of dollars of interest expense. * Increases equity in your property. CONS: * Prepayments reduce your liquidity. * You may earn more by investing than by prepaying. * Other borrowing is probably costing you more.
  2. Use for storage of sewing supplies or anything else.
  3. Take an old fabric shower curtain. Cut out the top to fit around your neck. Glue velcro to both sides. You have a hair cutting cape.
  4. Here are five questions to ask yourself before buying anything that costs more than $20: 1. Do I really have a need or compelling use for this? 2. Could I just as well borrow or rent it, for less? 3. If I really do need it and borrowing it is not feasible, can I afford to pay for it with cash? 4. If I can, do I already own something that would serve just as well? 5. If I don't have anything that will do the job, do I know for a fact that I have found the best value? Have I really checked around enough to know? If your prospective purchase passes each of the above checkpoints, still WAIT 24 HOURS before making the purchase (unless it's an emergency, of course). With this system, you will save money on many items that you would buy largely on impulse, without sufficient thought
  5. Don't throw out those leftovers! Use leftover pork and beans to make an open-faced sandwich. Put the beans on hamburger bun halves or bread, top with a slice of American cheese and broil until the cheese starts to bubble and is melted.

  8. A quick way to make garlic butter is: A quick way to make garlic butter: Simply take the butter out of the fridge, cut and 1 cm cubes, then peal a few garlic cloves. Take 1 butter cube and 1 garlic clove and put them into your garlic press. It only takes a squeeze to make a perfectly manageable, soft garlic butter in seconds.
  9. Tips for cooking beans. When cooking beans, any additional ingredients, such as acidic substances, such as lemon juice, vinegar, tomatoes, ketchup or wine, should be added at the end of the cooking time, since acid makes the beans firm. You could add a packet of seasoning after the beans are tender, as adding it too soon can inhibit the cooking process.
  10. Steam your veggies by Simply placing a colander over a pan of boiling water, tip prepared veg in and put a lid over the top for 10-12 mins. The veg will be cooked and crunchy but be careful as the colander will be hot!

    THE BRIDE

Its going to take 74 days to get the book in at my library from what the librarian told me. How old is the book? Usually they have copies of everything so this surprises me. How about picking an alternative book for those of us who can't get the book right away Dee? It would be appreciated.
  14. God Bless You Dee! I always wanted to have a football team but the Lord gave me a beautiful 19 Year old daughter who he wanted back, To watch over me and my boys.. Cappy, The pup and the cat. I couldn't have children after I had my daughter but that was just as well because I always had a flock of her friends over at the house so my house was filled with alot of commotion...I miss it but I feel to old to start over again and raise children. Not my cousins though who are the same age as I am. Last year they adopted an 8 yr old girl from Russia and then adopted her 5 year old brother and he came to the Country at Christmas. I have to give adoptive parents alot of credit. Sometimes I see the ads on tv for the Christian Childrens Fund or other places and I want to adopt but then I think long and hard about the responsibility involving raising a child . So I say God Bless You.
  15. You will see stars Cappy if you don't wear your jacket home from work this afternoon! LOL. I don't want my pudum to catch cold no matter how nice out it is.
  16. Thats another great idea Twi...Thanks for posting it!

  20. Use the tabs on aluminum cans to hang pictures. Just tack them to the back of the frame, or glue on with a hot glue gun.
  21. You'll be much more likely to tackle the daily garden chores if your ready to go with all your tools. You'll need two plastic buckets. These can usually be found for free or for a minimal cost at the local donut shop or bakery. I use one of the 2-gallon plastic buckets for storing my hand tools. Inside my bucket, I keep my trowel, a small hand rake, a large spoon, a pair of garden shears, a pair of garden gloves, my kneeling pad plus a few plastic grocery bags for pulling weeds or for gathering the harvest. A 5-gallon plastic bucket is great for collecting weeds in the garden. When the bucket is full, transfer the weeds to the compost pile. If you have an old piece of garden hose, cut off two small sections, slit the hose lengthwise and slip it around the thin, metal handles on you buckets to make them more comfortable to carry. Need to take a break? Flip the 5-gallon bucket upside down and use it for a chair.
  22. HEINZ KETCHUP- A BIG THUMBS UP I won't buy any other Ketchup. I had purchased in the past other brands and off brands of ketchup but Heinz has always turned out to be the best. I buy it when its on sale and stock up on it.
  23. Cost Cutters and FANTASTIC SAMS- A HUGE THUMBS DOWN on these places for discount hair cuts. First of all I don't think they are so cheap and second of all for the times I have gone there to get my hair trimmed and shaped I have shown the beautician what kind of cut I want and every darn time I come out looking like a country singer with really big hair. AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! The beauticians are inexperienced unless you beg for the senior member manager at these places and then you still don't get the cut you want.
  24. Suave Shampoo's- THUMBS UP! Suave products are not only great but they are economical as well. I save money when I buy Suave and it makes my hair nice and shiny and clean. CVS and the Dollar Trees sell bottles of these products for under one dollar. If you have coupons you can get them for nothing or next to nothing.
  25. Caffeine free diet Mountain Dew- THUMBS UP! I have been waiting for this soda because I love Mountain Dew but couldn't handle the caffeine or the sweetness. Its a great product. I will buy it again.
