Dee
Fort Campbell's 'family' was meeting last night..and found out a few things that are important to send to our fellows overseas Any leaking box, will be thrown away. Do NOT send chap stick for lip balm (they need lip balm w/sunscreen) They found that the chap stick is melting in 95+ degree weather. No-See-Um Head Net or Mosquito Head Nets are needed to keep the bugs off. These can be found in the Sporting Goods/Camping Depts. 3....4-5 count slim jim boxes of beef stick & beef jerky fit in a padded envelope perfect I know that there are some items that can not be bought & are needed. Disposable Razors Suntan Lotion (Fort Campbell's meeting, asked for us to send more..than was required of them to purchase prior to leaving) Deodorant Foot Powder hand sanitizer in packettes or bottles (I found packets at the dollar store) baby wipes(this is how they bathe, paper towels & toilet paper) Powdered Drink mixes that only need water. Michael told me that the water that they drink is very warm. Snacks of any type that will not spoil or melt in the heat I have been sending Pringles for chips, they won't crush. gum, breath mints, lysterine pocket sheets, hard candy Envelopes writting supplies phone cards A friend whose husband is in the military sent this list to me after she attended the meeting at the fort.
