Dee
I put 12 bags, 2 cups in each bag, of rhubarb in the freezer today. I'm out of rhubarb so that's it for this year. Quote Link to comment
out_of_the_ordinary
Several quart bags of strawberries (cut-up). The kitchen smells good. The strawberries will be used in smoothies after blueberries are in season/cheaper. Quote Link to comment
Dave Digs Dirt
6 quart bags of sugar snap peas, 8 quart bags of broccoli, and 8 pint bags of spinach. Last of the spinach thank heavens! Got zucchini chips and broccoli stems in the dehydrator. Going to powder the broccoli stems to make soup with later. Dave Quote Link to comment
Dee
Yesterday a friend told me she'd picked all the rhubarb that she was going to pick this year. If I wanted more to help myself. Well I did and froze another 13 bags today. She has lots more but I think 25 bags is enough and yet............................hmmmm. Quote Link to comment
Trudy
12 qts. of eggplant, 5 qts. yellow squash, 5 qts. chopped bell pepper, and 3 (2 cup) bags of shredded zucchini. I'm tired! Quote Link to comment
Dee
11 cups of strawberries in the freezer. Made a dent in my strawberry bed but still plenty more to pick. Quote Link to comment
Trudy
30 gigantic red and green bell peppers blanched and frozen to make stuffed peppers. I think that the peppers at the u-pick this year are the biggest one I have ever seen! And so good too. Quote Link to comment
out_of_the_ordinary
Blueberries. They're in the freezer now, single layer, in glass pie dishes. Once they're fully froze, I'll put them in freezer bags. I'm hoping the freeze blackberries today, too. Quote Link to comment
themartianchick
My contribution is 3 blackening bananas... That is about all I've had time for. I'm hoping to have time to actually make and freeze some banana bread. Quote Link to comment
Kelly
3 qts of sliced breaded zucchini. Still have about 6 qt in the frig and hopefully more to come if we could get some rain! Quote Link to comment
Trudy
I didn't feel too hot yesterday, so I hand diced 2 gallons of onions for salsa while I watched tv. I usually end up throwing my veggies for salsa in the food processot, but I prefer hand cut when time allows. I'm well prepared with onions and peppers now if I can just get some more tomatoes. I sliced the last of my belle pepper into strips and froze them on a cookie sheet.. I can't wait to try an old family recipe for Pepper Steak that dd gave me when we went to Indiana! Jori
Does the celery get soggy in the soup? Today it is celery, chopped and placed in pint FoodSaver bags for future soups and such. Quote Link to comment
Canned Nerd
Since the soup is liquid, I would say yes, but it is no difference from any other veggie that has been previously frozen and added to the soup or stew. Quote Link to comment
Dee
6 quarts rasperries to the freezer Quote Link to comment
